hi, i was wondering how many extra calories we are supposed to consume now that we are pregnant. is anyone else worried they may not be eating enough? i get full so quickly and go through the whole day eating one meal and a couple of small snacks. is this bad?

You should consume an extra 300 calories a day. That's the equivalent of one apple and one lite yogurt. Or an apple and a banana and a small handful of crackers. It really isn't that much. Just make sure those extra calories are good for you and you'll be fine.

thanks bean, that seems reasonable!

My doctor told me it isn't eating for two. Its only an extra bowl of cereal or something.

I think between 300-500 calories.

I never count calories. I just watch what I put in my mouth. 'Cuz some people would translate an extra 300 calories into whatever 300 calories. But content is more important. I haven't counted calories for years, and all it's gotten me is a less crazy existence. And I'm not obese from it either. Especially in pregnant women, your body & your baby will tell you when to eat & when to stop if you just listen.

I've always read and been told it's 300 extra calories. Just adding a little extra healthy something to your diet should be enough.
