I'll be 20 weeks on Thursday & I have gained about 5 pounds...maybe 6 on a good day. It does not seem like this is nearly enough! I was never sick at all, so I can't use that as a reason. I eat all of the time. Should I be concerned that I have not gained more weight?? Thanks!

I don't think you should be worried. I am 21 weeks, and in the first few months of pregnancy, I lost 4 pounds due to morning sickness. Now, at 21 weeks, I have only gained 3 back.....and my doctor said that was perfectly normal.

Dont be concerned!! My cousin only gained 12 lbs when she was pregnant, the doctors never gave her a hard time, shes was just eating properly, she ate veggies and meats, fruits, and already had a son so she excercised daily by by taking him for walks etc. I am 14 weeks and have lost 3-4 lbs. I gained 45 lbs with my first baby and DO NOT plan on doing that again. Im shooting for 20 lbs.

Well I can't really tell how much I've gained, I honestly don't think I've gained anything at all, I am 26 wks, and the first three months I lost alot of weight due to morning sickness and so far I'm may have only gained about two pounds since then but I feel HUGE, the baby seems fine and seems to be the right weight. I eat alot and besides some cravings I eat right so I don't know.

Just wait...I was the same as you. At 18 weeks I weighed my pre-pregnancy weight (I lost four pounds during 1st tri and then slowly gained it back). Between 20-24 weeks your baby will have a big growth spurt and then you will start to gain weight more rapidly. I am now 28 weeks and have gained 16 pounds.

every pregnancy is different...believe me!! with my daughter i gained 50 pounds!!! with this one, i lost 9 pounds, and it took me till 20 weeks to gain that back. then from week twenty to 26 i gained 10 pounds!! i was shocked by that. now at 27 weeks i am up 12.5 pounds from my prepregnancy weight. i think as long as you are eating healthy, you have nothing to worry about. the weight will come on as the baby gets bigger. good luck. :)

Meg, I'm in the same boat. I am almost 24wks and at my last appointment, a week ago, I was told that I hadnt put on any weight since the last time I was weighed. I have only gained 4 pounds, total, according to the nurse which I find hard to believe because I eat very well and my belly is getting rather large. I go back in two weeks so I hope things have changed alittle. Just keep taking care of urself and eating. like u have and things should be fine:)

Meg, I think a lot of how much weight you gain depends on how much you weighed prepregnancy and how much you have changed your lifestyle since. I'm on 15 weeks and so far I have lost 16 lbs. I haven't suffered much morning sickness but my lifestyle changed a lot. I have moved to California from the UK and I now walk a lot more and eat differently. My doctor isn't too worried as everything checked out fine when I had an ultrasound. She said that everyone reacts differently and the weight will catch up with me eventually. Just relax and think how much easier it will be to get your waist back later on. Good luck.
