I started out 115pds and I am now around 140pds. I will be 25 weeks on Thursday. I am 5'7 and was told that I was border line underweigth to normal. I am pretty much a basketball. I can tell that I have gained a little in my thighs and I am not sure but you might be able see a little difference in my face. I am showing very well at this point but like I said its like a basketball. I am scared to see how much more I am going to gain in the next 3 months.

when you are underweight to start, they want you to gain more and 115 for 5'7 gives you a BMI of 18, which is just underweight. You have a little more leeway... we all gain differenyly and we ll look differeny so dont worry, your body knows what it is doing.

I was 125, 5'2" when I started. I am now 20 weeks and I weigh 152 lbs. I still work out everyday for 1-2 hours, I eat right and I am a very weight conscious person. But ervything seems to be going to my legs and rear! I don't know what else to do. My son was 9.1 when he was born so I know I am going to have a big baby. My doc told me not to worry about it. As long as the baby is healthy, I am not going to complain, I can always get it off after.

If your Dr isn't worried then there's no reason for you to be worried. I think too much emphasis is put on keeping your weight low. I know you'll have to lose it afterwards but I put the health of my baby before my vanity. So long as you Dr is ok with things and you don't have any health issues related to your weight don't worry. I'm having a hard time gaining weight. I've lost 17lbs so far and I'm 22 weeks. My Dr keeps nagging me to put weight on or my baby will suffer. Anyway, think of all the exercise later when you are running around after a toddler!

My doctor said that if you are overweight she wants you to gain around 25lbs if you are normal 35lbs and if you are underweight 45lbs. She said the average woman gains right at 40lbs or basically a pound a week. So you are pretty much in line with the norm. Relax, you are doing just fine.

Autumn - that sounds normal to me too. I am 5'8 and started out at 142lbs. I've always been underweight at 120lbs, so my doc was happy I was a "healthy" weight. So far I have gained 11lbs and I am 23 wks along. It's mostly my tummy that's gained weight, but I notice my thighs are getting bigger too! ah well - as long as baby is healthy I will be happy :)
