It occured last night I was laying on the couch and thought wow my feet look fat and with closer obsrevation I realized they were totally swollen. I woke up this morning and thought i was in the clear but my ankles have disappeared again (ha ha) Has anyone else expierenced this so early on?? I didnt think swelling happened until late in the 3rd trimester

My feet are going crazy!! i'm 25 weeks but thye have been doing so for a while! Shoes that fit me as Ieave the house, not longer fit me at work, no matter how I get there (by getting a lift or catching the bus!) I've had to take slippers to work with me as they are the only thing that are comfortable! My feet are also warm all of the time!

not too noticable although last friday i left a pair of open-toe heels under my desk that fit me fine and then tuesday when I came back after the holiday weekend i couldnt cram my fat foot into them.. LOL but I think it may have been the heat. I dont know how the weather is where u ladies are but earlier this week in albany NY it was likw 85-90 and MUGGY... ugh! thats going to be the worse part of the pg for me is the summer when its all hot and nasty!!

How much salt are y'all eating? The other day I ate a ton of potato chips and couldn't move my wedding ring. I've heard that if you limit your intake of salt, it helps. Also, try to keep you feet up. It is a nice way to relax too. (sorry hon, can you finish up the dishes? I have to relax, doctors orders.) One more thing I learned from my last pregnancy is that an warm soak with epsom salts works well. Epsom salts actually draw out bloat and relieve muscle pain.

I get swelling if I stand for a long time or if it very hot outside, I live in Florida so I guess I can not escape that. Also, if I eat something salty I know my feet will swell up. Some days are better that other though. I notices it around 14 weeks too, I am not 20 weeks, so I know how you feel. I have to quit wearing heels to work and get dressier flip flop type sandals. My feet will swell and hurt immediately with heels. Dress for comfort when you are pregnant, you will notice a HUGE difference.

I am 12 weeks and noticed a couple of days ago that my feet were starting to swell a bit. My last pregnancy, I could feel the water swishing around in my feet when I walked and by 7 months, was wearing slippers only because I couldn't find any shoes that would fit!!

I didn't start to get any swelling until I was about 25 weeks ( I am now 28). Maybe because we live in Germany where it still isn't all that hot outside. I took a trip to a warmer place around the time I was 25 weeks, and OMG, my feet were twice their size!!! I couldn't fit shoes on them! I could barely fit sandals on. It was the heat, and the fact that it was an 18 hour drive by bus!! They're back to normal now, and I only experience mild finger swelling now. The weather is warming up here now, and still no swelling. We're moving to Florida soon and I don't even want to think about how my feet will be then.

Oh,I don't mean to scare anyone, but you must be really careful about his too. According to my book, if swelling persists for more than 24 hours at a time you should call your doctor. If accompanied by rapid weight gain, a rise in blood pressure, and protein in your urine, it could be a sign of Pre-eclampsia. Also, for just regular swelling, drink LOTS and LOTS of water. IT helps to flush all the toxins out of your system. That's where I went wrong on my trip. I actually tried to NOT drink so much water because then i'd have to use the bathroom all the time, and clean bathrooms were hard to find.
