Leg Cramps

So a few times now I awake in the middle of the night with one of the those awful knots in my calf...I try to get up to walk it off, most of the time it works, but one time I fell (both baby and myself are fine). I had another one last night and now today it feels like someone punched my calf, it hurts!!!!!! Anyone else having these issues, I've been trying to stretch at night after work but not sure if its helping...any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I had a few ones which weren't too bad a few weeks ago - they last 30 secs or so and went when I bent my foot upwards. Then the other night I had a really bad one (my cat who was sleeping with me thought I was about to die!). I pointed my foot towards my stomach and it improved but I was hobbling about all day. I could only walk properly on one foot so I waddled for the day! Pointing your foot towards your stomach definately helps. Sometimes its said eating more calcium helps but its not proven but I'm trying that - can't do any harm. I saw on the internet someone else mentioned eating bananas for the pota__sium I think. Also I saw on the internet having a warm bath (though obviously not too hot or it'll hurt the baby) before bed is supposed to help but I haven't tried this. Good luck with it.

I am 20 weeks, and I have been getting leg cramps for 2 weeks now. I get them all up and down my legs. The books say they are normal.

Drink water! Lots of H2O helps too.
