Question About Measurments

OK when I went in for my 20 week ultrasound they said that she was weighing 6 ounces more than they thought she would. Now last week I went in for my 24 week checkup and she said that im measuring big....she said normal for 24 weeks is anywhere from 21cm to 27cm and I am measuring a little more than 27cm. Now when I first got pregnant there was a question about my LMP date.....could I have infact been right the entire time and be 3 weeks further along than what they say??? What does everyone think? She said they will be keeping an eye on my size.

I am currently 22 weeks along. I had my first ultrasound at week 5 to date the pregnancy and have had over 12 since then, including a level 2. ( I am being monitored for shortening of the cervix and my last baby had a fatal birth defect so they are keeping an above-average watch on me). I measured right on at week 5, but since then, it seems this baby doesn't want to stay an average size. Although I am 22 weeks exactly, the baby already measures 23 weeks 5 days. They haven't changed my due date, said they don't plan on it. He's just big. And the doc told me there was a great chance that everything would even out in the weeks to come. There are other things they measure besides the total weight and length of the baby to determine the due date, so a change may not be in store for you. I was never one for mapping ovulation and all that stuff. If you go by my last period, I would have been three and a half weeks further along than I really was, which could have caused problems with them thinking the baby was too small. I just suffered from delayed ovulation. Like my doctor told me - it is a science, but it isn't exact. Congratulations!

I don't know if this helps, but when I went in for my level II ultrasound Friday I was 17 weeks 1 day. My son was measuring 18 weeks 4 days, so he's bigger than his "age". The doctor was not concerned at all.

Oh, one other thing, I know the exact date I conceived since we were using ovulation tests. There's no doubt he was 17 weeks 1 day old. He's just a little bigger than most I suppose.

It is possable that you are father along than originally thought. However the doctor should have made any adjustments to your due date after seeing the US report. I just had my 24 week check up and I measured 24cm. But in anycase, maybe youll meet your bundle of joy early. Good luck!
