Severe Migraines That Are Scaring Me

I've always gotten migraines, but before I was pregnant I was on medication for them. I've been having migraines since about 6 weeks, and they last at least 2 weeks. I get about a week break and then it starts again. I've just read that women who get migraines are 19 times more likely to suffer a stroke or heart attack during pregnancy. Has anyone ever heard of this? I'm always a paranoid person, but now I think I'm having a stroke every 10 minutes. I just want them to stop! Any advice?

Hi. i myself don't suffer from migranes, but I've had some friends that have experienced this and a few things that have helped have been swimming and acupuncture. Check with your doc about the acupuncture and makes sure the pract_tioner has experience with pregnant ladies. I also have a friend who has been having migranes since age 13 and was recently tested for gluten allergies. She tested positive for them and since she has been off gluten no migranes...just food for thought. Good luck, hope the months pa__s quickly for you.

alot of women cut out caffeine when pregnant, this is what gave me most my problems. I wake up and drink a mountain dew every morning and decrease my chances of getting migraines by a ton. Check with your neurologist, they have different remedies that you might be able to try.

i feel for u girl! they are the worst! i would say talk with your doc for rea__surance and perhaps getting ma__sages and having them focus on your head and neck......it will help relieve it a bit from a natural standpoint and i think after your first trimester you can take some stuff that is a bit stronger than tylenol?? not sure. either way, best of luck.
