Jennifer~That was my exact thoughts with the first 2, but I guess with this one, I would feel so completely overwhelmed with a child with serious special needs as well as having to care for a 3 yr.old and a 1 1/2 yr old. I am not a beliver in abortion, so I guess it would be a pointless test huh? The only benefit would be mental preparation, but you're right, with the high incidence of false positives, I would be opening a whole new can of worms. Okay, minds made up. Thanks! :o)

Ohh the joys of the first baby! How wonderful for you both! Citrouille~ Quad screening is a blood test they do at 16-18 weeks thats tests for 4 genetic abnormalities, Anencephaly, Spina Bifida, Down Syndrome, and Trisomy 18. The test has a rather high incidence of false negatives, leading to lots of stress and further testing. Amnio is usually the first follow up test doctors perform, as well as a ultrasound. Some women choose to abort babies with these abnormalities. Others just have it done to put their mind at ease or to mentally prepare for it. By the way, does KC stand for Kenny Chesney?

What about Z?

Tiffani, ok I did that test. It came back negative, so big relief. I personally don't regret doing it. It is true that I have no idea how I would have reacted had it been postive, but I would definetly prefer to be aware if something was wrong with my baby. Not saying that I would be able to abort because I probably wouldn't have been able to..
