Why Do You Have To Wait 3 5 Days After Missed Period

Okay I don't understand why you have to wait until after your missed period to take a pregnancy test! Is it more accurate that way? What if you got pregnant at the very begining of your cycle, would you still want to wait or could you take a test anyways? Sorry if you don't understand what i mean!

You don't have to wait 3-5 days after the day your period should have started. Most tests now can be used the day your period should have started. You're not as likely to get pregnant at the beginning of your cycle, because most women ovulate in the middle of the cycle. You don't want to test too soon, because the tests are checking for HCG, a pregnancy hormone, and your body has to build up enough HCG for the test to pick up on it. If you test too soon, it will give you a negative result, and you'll just end up buying another test the day your period should have started.
