Any Chance With Withdrawal

hi all, just wanted to hear of any one who have conceived with the withdrawal method. i'm desperate to have a baby but dh doesnt want to try just yet, he'd rather it be accidental, hence the withdrawal method. we had agreed to begin trying when i went off the pill two months ago, but he's not so sure now, worried about how we'll be financially, which is silly, cause we have just as much or more money then families with more then one child! he's driving me nuts! please, are there any success stories out there?????

The chances are there but they are not so high. I got pregnant after 5 years of withdrawl.

oh true......... well heres to a long wait then........ lol. nah, i've heard that if you have s_x twice in the same night, there's leftover sperm in the prec_m, so yeah, when i'm ovulating i try to get him twice in a row lol. he doesnt realise it though. he thinks he's just gettin lucky :-P. thanx for your input emma2

Keeping in mind that with regular ejaculation during your fertile time you have a 25% chance of achieving pregnancy.

yeah that's right, i know my chances arnt very high, but there isnt much i can do about it, until the dh is ready. unfortunately, he's the one with the decision to withdraw or not lol.

hey peta-leigh i asked a very similar question with the t_tle "who got pregnant using the withdrawl method" in the general pregnancy forum. You may want to have a look at a few of the responses i got there.

hey thanx for that oz, i read the posts and i do feel a bit more hopeful......... im getting so impatient. im ready to start a family but dh feels that it's the wrong time atm to start planning, as we are just about to move towns/just bought our first house. but i dont think he'd ever be 100% ready to start a family, although we have been talking about it for about a year. ah well, fingers crossed :-P

Emma's experience confirms the 20% failure rate, though I think teens are often not so lucky. Peta, your theory sounds good - there is s____n left in the urethra after ejaculation, not just pre-c_m. Some women have proposed quite imaginative ways to lay hands on some s____n and get it to its destination. In the long run I think you would be better off if conception were a joint decision. As long as you are still under 30 it would be a good idea to build up a nest-egg first. Good luck!
