I think it open during ovulation then close after until your period comes then it is open again during af then closes again until you ovulate. If you get pregnant I think it stays closed.

If your cervix is open,, it will feel very soft and mushy,, if it is closed,, it will feel like a hard little ball (hard like cartlidge)

your cervix is only open during ovulation, and during your period. Until you get pregnant that is,,, then it opens for labor. But, your cervix does not stay open from ovulation all the way to your period. if you get pregnant during ovulation, it will not open till near labor. If you do not get pregnant, it still closes after ovulation as well.

the cervix is soft during the time you ovulate, right before you start menstruating and if you are pregnant

i just read that when you are pregnant your cervix will rise up and become soft.

..and once you've given birth, your cervix will likely not be completely closed, like the way it was before you had a child..

I think monitoring cervical position as a pregnancy sign is too difficult. That sucker is constantly on the move and won´t let on. LOL
