whats the deal with the two weeks before conception counting into the pregnancy schedule. I keep hearing this but it doesnt make all that much sense to me as it has been explained. is it the date of the last period? anyone with a way to explain it simply?

It's a hang-over from the days when mankind did not understand the whole process. Convention is to date the pregnancy from the first day of the last missed period, even though the s_x act and conception did not happen until 2 weeks later. Count 380 days from the lmp, or nine calendar months plus one week to get a likely due date.
