Grandpa Viv Question Pls X

Hello Grandpa Viv, I've been posting here for a couple of months now so you've maybe seen my name "pop up". I am TTC following my 2nd miscarriage in December. For the first time this month I am using OPKs just to see exactly when I ovulate though I usually have signs I thought I'd try the tests just to see! On seeing my doctor last week I found I have a cyst on my right ovary. I am waiting to be scanned but am hoping it will be a very small one and will go quickly. (it's actually feeling alot better today) I had a cyst a couple of years ago just a tiny one and it went quite quickly but obviously while TTC it's not very encouraging! Anyway I wondered if you knew if having a cyst affects OPK? Mine has been negative so far but that is what I would expect as wouldn't be ovulating yet (probably in the next week though) The instructions say being pregnant can affect the results but they don't mention cysts. What do you think? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks very much-you always seem to have good knowledge and I can see you are a great help and support to many ladies on this forum! Thank you x

OPK detects the LH surge (Luteinizing Hormone) which causes the follicle to release the egg. I'm afraid I don't know the answer to your question off the top of my head, and don't have the time right now to do a search. Are you going to BBT as well? It's cheaper than OPK. http://www.fertilityfriend.com is a good place to start for that. Good luck, and sorry about the 2 m/c. Keep swinging!
