Help Me Figure This One Out

Ok. I feel stupid for asking but how do you figure out your cycles. I have been writing them down trying to figure this out. Back in Jan. my period was on the 13th for 7 days. In February I started on the 17th for 6 days. In March, I started on the 27th for 3 days. In April I started on the 24th for 2 days. I had s_x between my February cycle and my March cycle. Is this a regular pattern? Thank you all.

35 days., 38 days, 28 days, if my math isn't letting me down. :-) I wouldn't call this regular, also they seem to be getting shorter. 'Standard' is 28 days but I think the normal range is anything from 22-35 days. It's good you're tracking yourself, because it's essential to do that if you do, or don't want to get pregnant. Periods do vary a lot with some women, which is why some choose the pill to artificially regulate the cycle. Of course, these are the gals that are not trying to get pregnant. Are you worried that you are pregnant?

Rainbow I am worried about being pregnant. Or maybe not worried but happy if I am. It just seems weird to me that they are so wishy washy and so much shorter. Although even on my short periods I had clots and cramping so my guess is my chances are low but what else could cause this? Also with cycles like that, then when would I have ovulated in March and April as that is when I would have conceived. Thank you.

oops I meant when would I have ovulated in Feb. and March? But I guess if you like Math (I don't)-ha-ha. Then you could tell me when I should have ovulated all those months. :)

Yep, if your cycles are irregular like that, it's really hard to predict when you might ovulate. Usually, if your cycles are longer, then ovulation happens later too. For example, if your cycle is 35 days, you might not ovulate until around day 20 or 21. So, if you were trying to get pregnant, and were just having s_x around the 14th day, (a peak fertile day for many women), you would probably not get pregnant. Ovulation predictor kits are supposed to be good, but of course they cost money..I'd look out for other signs, like change in mucous (increase etc.) to determine if I was getting near ovulation. (Besides you often find, you feel really keen on seducing your dh/boyfriend then..:-) Ever noticed any changes like that? My guess is you're not pregnant, but by all means see your doctor if you're worried. Maybe he can help you with your irregular cycles?

Rainbow (more math) - May 3

PS: You usually ovulate around 14 days or so before your period. That time frame stays around the same. It's the build-up to ovulation that can vary a lot. So, in Feb you might have ovulated around the 3rd of Feb and in March around the 13th of March. (Help, the math is doing my head in,lol) Anyhow, of course the question remains, how many days does his sperm live? So, if you have s_x 3 days before ovulation, you could still possibly become pregant.
