I think i read somewhere that if you are preg and take an OPK test it can read positive but it could be pickin up a pregnancy? I think I o'd on CD23 but I took a OPT on the 17th which would have been CD 29 and has a faint postive line...but that was way past my O'd date?? Has anyone heard anything like this? /home/17d1f5
Sorry for posting 2 questions so soon after the other!
There's no such thing as a faint positive line. An opk is only positive when the line is dark (as dark or darker than the control line). Opks can have faint test lines on them all month long, because there is always some residual level of LH in your urine.
opks are not reliable PG testers although it can be fun to experiment. I didn't quite catch if you got a faint line on an OPK or an hpt. If its an hpt than you are pregnant?????!!!!!! if it was an opk than it just means there is still traces of LH in your system. Just FYI: LH and HCG have very similar components but are very different hormones. That is why sometimes SOMETIMES an opk will pick up hcg. but an hpt will never pick up LH... hope this doesn't confuse you. :)
Every time i have taken an OPK there hads ALWAYS been two lines, not light lines either but not always as dark as each other but two lines definitely. A positive OPK the two lines are the same intensity of color or the test line is darker
