Can one get a late period after a positive home pregnancy test?

its not technically a 'period' because no egg drops but yes, you can continue to bleed monthly as if you were getting a period. it is not unheard of and not as uncommon as most people think. congrats on your positive!!

some people still have periods their whole pregnancy. Also, your hormones may be adjusting once you come around the time ou are supposed to have your period. Sometimes you might release a bit of blood. However, if there is severe pain and cramping involved, you might want to see a doctor. How far along do you think you are? I bled with slight cramping last Thursday and went to the ER. They said it was a threatened miscarriage, so I was off my feet for a few days and I've been taking it easy. But the bleeding stopped, and cramping was almost non-existent. Are you filling more than a pad? Do you see any clots?
