Stress

Can stress cause you to miss a period even if you cramp for days before your period is due? I had cramps around the time of my period for 3 days as if I was going to start, I even stocked up on tampons but no period. Could I be pregnant or can you act as if youre going to and stress totally dismiss it? Please respond.

Stress can make you miss a period...but usually you will get it a little late..not completely skip a whole month...cramping around pms time...cramping in general is a sign of pregnancy as well..I would take a hpt...if it comes out negative wait a week and retest...good luck.

Christine- Thats what I thought but I wasnt sure. I thought that cramping is what helps releases the blood so if I was cramping I should have at least spotted a little bit huh? I am 3 weeks late and took a test the other day but it was negative. I am going to the dr next week for a blood test. I have crampy, achy pains in my lower abdominal area and my sides that comes and goes. I also thought that stress could cause you to be late, but not just totally skip a month. I had two consequetive ones and was totally stressed but I still started them on time. I dont why this month would be different. I guess it happens though, every month is different. Thanks for you advice Shannon and Christine. Good Luck to the ones who are in the same boat as me! Keep me posted please! : )

I'm glad to hear that you have already made a doc's appt....some people just wait and wait...better to know as soon as possible...just because the hpt said no does not mean you are not pregnant..lots of woman do not get a pos. hpt and really are pregnant...good luck at the doc's and let us know..
