Does anyone really know if there's a certain way to tell whether you have succeeded conception the day of ovulation? How soon can one really know?

Ha Ha, if only we could know this early!! I laugh only because if you have been on this forum long enough, it is all about wanting to know if we haved conceived right after ovulation. Truly, the best way to find out is to wait till you miss your period and then test. if you try to find out any earlier, i PROMISE you, you will go CRAZY like the rest of us...........do yourself a favor and just enjoy these next few weeks, take your vitamins, don't drink, and you will save yourself from loosing your sanity!!!!!

Does drinking really play a big role when ttc? I've heard so many different things. Some say it's ok, but as long as you don't consume too much. I've also heard red wine is ok. What do you guys think?

your going to get a million different answers to that one. i don't think it effects ttc, but once your pregnant do you want to take that chance? I have heard the same thing that once and a while is fine, but that is up to you and your doctor!!!! The only reason i say that is I lost a baby and I didn't know i was pregnant and i was drinking, taking large doses of algery meds and a few prescription drugs that are not safe during pregnancy, who knows it may have been the reason???

I understand what you're trying to say. I guess I wasn't thinking correctly. You mean, a__suming I have gotten pregnant, of course I would NOT want to be drinking. I was thinking while trying to get pregnant. I guess either way, it would be best to stay away from alcohol. Thanks again for your input.

I have had a couple of close friends who drank and didn't even know they were pregnant. They went on to have healthy, beautiful babies. So, I don't think it has too much of an impact in the beginning if you drank socially and didn't know you were pregnant. Hope this helps.

Rowan is right, I have TONS of friends who got pregnancy when they were drinking, one that didn't know they were for months and drank the entire time, and several that drank every once and a while while pregnant and knew it!! And remember I come from a generation where our mothers did drink while pregnant!!! I would just not want to say "oh, it's fine to drink" and someting end up wrong. That is why you will never see in writing that it is fine to drink. Just use your best judgment!!! Wishing you success in your baby making!!!!!
