would it harm your chances of conceiving or harm your baby if you are pg by going tanning? I know they say alot of heat is not good like hot tubs etc but what about a tanning salon?

lol tanning beds are prefectly fine, there's a big difference between being submerged in 105 degree water, and laying in a warm bed for 20 mins or less. I see pregnant women walking around almost naked around here and it's 95 degrees.

um NO they do not reccomend tanning. Rhamel are you kidding? They say do not increase your core body tempature to 102 degrees for longer than 10 minutes... I wouldn't do it. I would ask your doctor and I would be they would say the same.

No I'm not kidding. I have never been in a tanning bed that has raised my temperature. I've been to quite a few tanning beds and it never gets hot, there is always a fan b__wing on you.

Shannon, my doctor said definately no. You get too hot in there. I wouldn't worry too much while you are ttc, but once I was in fact pg I wouldn't. And rhamel, it's different being outside, than laying in a confined tanning bed that gets REALLY hot.

oh also I did ask my obgyn first and they said it is FINE... what tanning bed increases your core temp to 102?!? Then there is always spray tan, or sunless tanning lotion, which is better for you anyways.

if you are pregnant tanning beds are not ok.....

well, I guess we just haven't been to the same tanning salons because I've never been confined in a hot bed.
