Hey everyone, I have been with my boyfriend for 4 years off and on..I just recently found out that I am pregnant, when I told him, he was very supportive, now he doesnt have anything to say to me, he doesnt even call to check on me or to see how the baby is doing. I am 7 weeks pregnant. I offered to have an abortion, but he said no, that he was happy that I am pregnant. I am 26 years old, I have completed my master's degree and I have a good job. He is currently in law school with one year left. He says that he hasnt been talking to me because he has to focus on school and now he just told me that his mother is sick with cancer. I am really trying to be supportive and understanding, but he acts as if he hates me, he doesnt even answer my phone calls. What should I do? Do I need to give him room or what??

Well... I guess by the sounds of it he's going through a pretty hard time too. My baby's father doesn't talk to me either, he left me when I was 4 months pregnant because he needed to focus on his business, and didn't have time for a relationship... then went out and got another girlfriend. I just let him go though. I'm not about to waste any time begging him to be involved when he won't. Either he'll be there later or he won't... either way I'll be here for my baby. So for right now just focus on yourself and your baby. Take care of yourself, and maybe later he'll come around, and if he doesn't.. you will do perfectly fine on your own. Also I think that you will be glad you didn't get an abortion. You sound like you're at a pretty good point in your life for a baby, even though you're single, but there are plenty of awesome guys out there who are willing to love your child as their own... who needs some guy who's gonna run.

thank you for your response. I have decided that the best thing for me is to focus on my child. I know that I made the right decision in keeping my baby. I have decided that if he comes around then fine, that doesnt necessarily mean that I will be there, and if he doesnt than that's okay too. I can do a good job without him

i would not worry so much he is probaly torn between his mother having cancer i would give him time, he is probably really stressed, and imagine u r too. i am sure he cares for u other wise he would not tell u to keep the baby stay posative let him know how you feel be supportive for each other, if he can't even do this i would just let it be he will come aroound focus on you and your baby best wishes
