Should I Be Single

I have been with the same guy for 3 years, engaged for 6 months. We decided to have a baby and I am now 3 months pregnant. We recently got in a big fight in which he told me that he is no longer attracted to me because I am too fat for him and he is considering asking me to move out. Okay, so my pregnancy cravings have not been all that healthy, and I have put on about 7 pounds, but what the h__l? We have always had issues about my weight, but the fact that he would even say that he was thinking about asking me to move out when I am pregnant is astounding. Instead of him asking me to go, I decided to leave for a few days on my own. He emailed the next day saying he was sorry, should have been more tactful, and that we are having a baby that is going to need us both so he wanted to make it work whether he was happy or not. Well, I certainly don't want to be with someone who is not happy with me, even though the thought of being a single mom is not something I have ever envisioned. So, I told him that if he is not happy with me then we can never be a family. I haven't heard back yet. Any advice?

You only gained 7 pounds and that's how he treated you? So what if your cravings haven't been healthy, that doesn't justify his treating you that way. You are pregnant and even if you weren't he has no right to be so ridiculous. That's not showing true love. If he's truly sorry, why is he e-mailing that to you? Can't he pick up a phone or ask to see you someplace neutral in person? You have to decide what is best for you, but it's better to be single and happy than in a relationship and miserable.

Apparently he doesn't want to be with you. 7lbs is not a lot of wt. That is what I have gained and I'm 15wks. My DH loves my growing stomach. He doesn't see it as fat but at beauty. Maybe fear is leading him away. They say fathers go through just like mothers do. Good Luck and God Bless

Wow.... that is not right at all.... my boyfriend tried to talk to me about my weight gain before we broke up and he KNEW I was pregnant, in fact I was 4 months pregnant at the time. Ever since he brought that up I have been terribly depressed about it, and all I can do is eat. It still really hurts me to know that he brought it up especially in a manner where I felt like he was attacking me and not understand that I was effing 4 months pregnant! Well you know what? I just do not give a f*ck anymore lol... ditch that guy... because if you've had issues with him about it before and he recently brought it up again... looks like it isn't going to stop and it's going to get worse.

I wonder if there is something under the surface that has been brewing that you had no idea about. He might have used the weight issue as an excuse to leave you. You need to have a real heart to heart with him and ask him what he wants. Ask him to be honest and you two can figure out a plan for the future of your baby. Good luck!
