19 Unwed And Confused About The Texas Law

so my mom says that there is a law in texas that says that if you are unwed the babys last name is taken after the mother, because theres no proof about the father. is this true? and what if i want the baby to have the last name of the father? can i just wright his last name down?

You can put down any last name that you want. There is no law in any state that dictates whether or not you need to use your last name or the last name of the father. Choose wisely, your baby will have that name forever.
