I am 17 years old and have Cystic Fibrosis. I read about getting pregenant with it can be really hard. Like, my boyfriend has c_m in me alot and i dont have b/c right now and i still havent gotten pregnant which is kind of weird but at the moment a good thing. If you know anything about CF, do you think im ever going to become pregnant when im older?

CF in the male can cause fertility problems because of deformation of the sperm tube. In females it can cause fertility problems because of the quality of v____al mucus. If your mucus does not get fertile, slippery and stretchy around ovulation time, this is perhaps why you are not falling pregnant easily. Some women ttc with CF try Robitussin to change the mucus consistency. I think it would be unwise for you to depend on being marginally fertile for birth control. I think it would be very wise for you to have any partner tested for the CF gene before you consider pregnancy by him. Good luck!

i am not sure if this is true, so you may need to look it up, but i remember something about having a pregnancy with cystic fibrosis can actually decrease your life expectancy by up to 10 years. if this is true, you may want to consider any other factors that co inside with this disease before you make any descision to have a family. not meaning to frighten you or anything, but its not nice to know this kind of information AFTER things happen. although with todays technology it may also not be so much of a problem anymore. can i advise a chat with a midwife. even if your not pregnant they will help and advise you with everything. good luck

i wouldn't be using that for a birth control. My sister in law and one of my good friends has cystic fibrosis. My friend has a beautiful redheaded baby girl who's almost 1, and my sister in law had a miscarrige about a year ago... she was so upset about it because it was around the time i found out i was pregnant. Don't use that for a birthcontrol... your could end up with a child sooner then expected, or the heartache of losing one...
