Hey! Well, Here's my story.. I'm 17 years old and I think I might be pregnant. I had totally unprotected s_x once with my boyfriend about a week 1/2 before my period was due. It hasnt been that long, and I am supposed to start on Jan. 13th. (so I'm not late yet). We always use the withdrawal method (always) but this time we didnt do ANYTHING at all. It's only been a few days since we had unprotected s_x but I am concerned that I could be pregnant. I'm not experiencing any symptoms right now but this morning I woke up with this weird feeling around my abdomen and later today it started hurting just a little bit. Thats really the only thing right now that worries me (other than having s_x unprotected). I just want some advice on if I could actually be pregnant or if its just all in my mind.. And since I am scheduled to start on the 13th, if it doesnt come could I take a test on or around the 14th and it be accurate?! Thanks a lot.. Whitney*

Well, there is always a chance you could be pregnant, you can wait to see if your are late, and I know that it is hard not to worry but they do have "early" tests one is called First Responce Test and you can take it up to 5 days before your missed period. The only thing with over the counter test is that you can sometimes get a false negative but never usually never a false positive. You could get a false negative beceuse the hormone isn't strong enough to be picked up. I hope this helps.

I believe that even with First Response you would be better off waiting until Sat 22nd to test. If a "tugging feeling" is a way to describe that abdominal cramp, you are in good company. However, if you had no s_x Christmas weekend through New Years weekend, you were not in your fertile window and the chances of pregnancy are slim. Click on Am I Pregnant to the left to see other early signs of pregnancy. Finally, withdrawal is not an acceptable method of contraception. I am corresponding with two women for whom that failed over the holidays.
