I'm 17 and my boyfriends 19 when our baby is to be born I'll be 18 and he'll be 20. Our parents want me to get an abortion but I really dont want to and neither does my boyfriend, his only doubt is being able to pay for it. I feel like I have no choice on getting the abortion or not, there's already an apointment for the abortion for next week of april 12.... I feel like I really have no choice. Are there funds or programs that would help so that I could support my baby, with or without the help my my parents? I'm planning on graduating highschool in this January comming, and going on to college, I go to a private school with 18 kids and the staff/teachers said they would help in whatever way they could.. but I need help on doing all of this please help! ~Shannon

If you don't want to get an abortion then don't do it. Its your body and its your decision. Don't let anyone tell you what to do even your parents it not their choice its only yours. I was 17 when I got prego and I had my daughter when I was 18. Try applying for aide. Call your local counties department of human services and they should be able to set you up with medical help and finacial aide. But whatever you do don't listen to other people when you don't want to have the abortion done.

Corinne is right you dont have to do anything you dont want to and no one can make you. they cant drag you down to the appt and cant make the drs perform an abortion without your consent. your going to be 18 soon and then you will be legally and adult. you can call planned parent hood or your local DES OFFICE . You can still go to college and finish school while having a child lots of girls do it all the time i admitt it will not be easy but it is not impossible to accomplish and lots of girls do it without any help from parents and the father of baby. you do what you think is right. Remember its your life and your decision, thats great that your bf wants the baby. good luck

You already answered the question about abortion. You don't want to. So don't do it. Never do anything you don't want to do. And it sure sounds like you DO NOT want one. Yes, it will be financially straining, but where there is a will, there is a way. You have plans on finishing school and going to college. Those plans can still be arranged even though you're expecting. Yes, there is financial support out there. Since you're expecting, your boyfriend and you can work and open up an account to save money for the arrival of the baby. Plus a baby shower can help provide for the child's first months, even a year, when it comes to clothing, furniture, toys. The only thing you'd have to buy is pampers and formula, which is actually the most expensive part of raising a child. Besides that, there are places that can help. Look into your local human services area. They can give you the numbers to those services that can help. Most importantly though, if you have any doubts towards getting an abortion, which you do, then you don't, sweetie. Good luck.

Don't do something, exspecially like this, that everyone else is telling you to do. If you don't want to get an abortion then don't do it. There are programs that will help you pay for things. I heard that plan parenthood does. Have you tried anything like a TAPN program. That's what I'm in. I don't know if they have programs like TAPN or Cal Learn in any other state other then California. If you would like me to I can look it up, or even ask the TAPN nurse. My email is [email protected] Let me know if you would like me to look it up or not

As stated before you don't have to do anything you don't want to do. You and your boyfriend should go to your local Planned Parenthood. You can find one in your town by going to They have programs that can help you and your boy friend out. .
