29 Wks And Cord Around The Neck

On monday 5/22, I had a 4-D ultrasound and several photos show the cord around our baby's neck. I know there's essentially nothing we can do about this and it may be very common. As the u/s was provided by a third party, I will be seeing my doctor tomorrow- for this month's appt finally and was going to show her the pics. Any advice?

I would go ahead and call the dr now if I were you. It is probably ok, but I'd like the peace of mind of hearing that from the dr. Please let us know what you find out.

I just read your posting on another topic and you are due June 8th? You wouldn't be 29 weeks if so, correct? Maybe it was a typo? :)

I think there's another "mommietobe". I'm due August 11 as it stands. I will keep you posted. The ultrasound was soooo exciting and then I saw this and a whole new set of worries have begun.

Oh, ok...I just looked at it again and she is "mommie2b" with no "e" at the end. How confusing! :) I know what you mean though about the worrying. Try not to worry too much and make sure to let us know what you find out. Good luck

Don't sweat it. My baby was born with his cord tight around his neck, and he easily somersaulted through it. I think something like 40% of babies are born with their cords wrapped around them some way - loose or tight. It's not that big of a deal most of the time.

Hi mommie2be Alicia is right ... its pretty common. Both my boys had the cord around their neck, both here safe and sound. Good luck, I know not worrying is easier said than done!

Thank you. I'm a first time mother (obviously) and all the little worries are starting to set in. Thank you again and I'll let y'all know how today's appt goes. :)
