39 Weeks No Contractions

Hi everybody...I'm 39 weeks this Tuesday (2 days) and as of last week I hadn 't dialated anymore from the 1cm the week prior. My dr. mentioned induction after 40-41 weeks if that's going to be necessary and I don't want to think about induction because I haven't ever considered needing it. I would hate to have to do that but still I'm not feeling any major signs of him coming anytime soon. I don't know if he's just super cozy in there or what but I get slight period cramps once in a while and a slight contraction-like pains or Braxton Hicks or I don't know what the heck it is but it's random and I've had it for a couple weeks now at only 1cm dialated. So, anybody else around 39 weeks and not really feeling any signs that it's coming soon? Or does it pretty commonly just come all at once when it's time?? Thanks...

I am also 39 weeks, however do have contractions, and dont know if I'm dilated or effaced, I'll be checked this Monday... I have real contractions, but then they go away....I guess its called "false labor" I get so frustrated....Last night, I barely got any sleep because of painful contractions...but by the morning they subsided.....Its so hard at this point....everything hurts, but this baby is so stubborn :) My first one was born at 29 weeks and they couldnt stop it, but this one just loves it there :) You know, it seems like I will be pregnant forever... Every woman is different, and every pregnancy is different.....You may not have any contractions, and then boom, and you have one on top of the other...I wish you the best. What is your due date?

Thanks...my due date is November 13th and I'm finally at the point of feeling pretty anxious and my husband is too:) Wow, so this one is pretty different for you but you're having contractions of some sort at least. I think I am and maybe they just don't hurt as much as I think they would and so don't even realize it?? I don't know but looking forward to seeing the dr. on Tuesday. I expected the baby to come somewhat late only because my mother had both my sister and I 2 weeks late but my doctor said they don't let you go 2 weeks past your due date anymore. I just don't like the idea of outside interference or anything and want it to happen on it's own. Plus, I haven't heard the best news on that Picotin. Do you know much about it? When is your due date??

Hi Alirenee! I'm 39 weeks too. About a week and half ago all of my contractions stopped. I was having regular ones every day, but they just vanished! I've been about a cm since 35 weeks and have lost a bit of my mucous plug, but other than that, things are staying about the same. I'm kind of glad the contractions stopped - I was driving myself nuts wondering if I was in labor.

Alirenee, with my first pregnancy they gave me pitocin because contractions were very close but not close enough. I havent had any problems..Two of my friends had it and no problem either.....

That's really good to hear about the pitocin- if it comes to that. I had more of those random, I guess false contractions/Braxton Hicks last night. Sharp, short, random pain very low. Gone today. Josie, what is your due date?? It's coming so soon...Are you getting really anxious?? I am!! I don't even know what else to do with myself at this point as I got everything done I wante do before the baby's born. Boy or girl everybody?? I'm having a boy. Justin Alexander. Excited to see him!
