Did the vericose veins go away after your first kid? I have patches of them on my outer calves, I don't know what to do, I don't spend alot of time on my feet (I have a desk job) and I just don't know what happened there. Anyhoo, have fun at your u/s, let us know how everything goes. Have a great evening ladies.

Yes, mine did go away, they are from the uterus putting pressure on the pelvic veins, increasing pressure on the veins in the legs and causing backflow. You are more likely to get them if the run in the family, are overweight stand or sit for long periods of time. I find the one I got annyoing because I know it is there. They should go away, after the baby is born, there should be no more pressure. I believe it took about a month for mine to go away.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow!! I am very excited about eating like a pig!!! I've been eating lightly today to prepare for it. My mother and grandmother insisted that I not cook anything - Fine by me!! I am going to show up and EAT!! I usually do the dishes, but that sounds like a good job for sweet hubby this year. Safe travels and a Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!

Michelle - November 25

Hi Ladies! How was everyone's Thanks Giving?? It has always been ym favorite holiday. I went to the ultrasound onWednesday and the lady there told me all about what the doc didn't. She said there was something with the heart that they had to get a better look at, and showed me what they were talking about. She relieved me quite a bit when she said it was not as uncommon as the doctor made it sound and that it is actually quite frequent. She let me know it was always in the left ventrical and that it always turns out to be nothing!!! So wish me luck again, I get the final results on Monday at my doc appointment. My hubby was relieved too. Have a great day and TGIF!

Oh Michelle that's great that it turned out to be nothing too big. I have a heart murmur that I've had since birth, maybe it's just something like that. I'm canadian so I didn't have thnksgiving yesterday, but I did have it last weekend with my bf's parents (long story)....and I stuffed myself so full that I had to drag bf around the block a couple of times in order to be able to breathe!! I had my lat prenatal cla__s last night, watched a video on giving birth, and on post partum depression, not too exciting. I'm so glad that I'm done though...last night I was turning over and every time I would turn over I would get this sharp pain on my right side, do you think that's ok, or should I call my doc? I have an appt on monday and nothings bothering me right now so I'll prolly just wait and ask him about it on monday. Last night there was a power surge on our block and it broke our tv!!! So we now have no tv for a week or two, the bf's upset, but I'm not concerned because maybe we'll get something done!! Also, we have a date tonight, I'm so excited because we haven't gone out on a date in sooo long. Anyways TGIF ladies, I hope you have a grat weekend and eat lots of turkey leftovers for me!!

Michelle - November 25

Beth, I am Canadian too, but thought I would wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving anyway. I hope all is well with you! For me the little one was kicking/pushing on the left side and it felt so strange! I had to flip over to make it a little more comfy. Very active lastnight though. I have had little sharp pains too, but nothing too major, they seem to go away after a while, but I have noticed that my bh's are seeming to come around more often. I never had any with my first one. 1 month till Christmas. Going too fast! Let us know how your doc appt goes!

Beth - November 25

Oops Michelle, I forgot you were Canadian too...I've been getting what feels like period cramps that just came about in the past week or so, so I'm guessing that those are my braxton hicks? who knows! My babies always on the right side, where the pain was, so maybe he hit a nerve when I moved or something. Any plans for the weekend? Christmas is coming way too fast!! Exactly a month away, we get a week off work for christmas, then get back on Jan 2, then two weeks and I'm on my maternity leave, then two weeks and I'll have my baby!! That's a scary thought!!! I'm so unprepared...

Michelle - November 25

When is your due date again? 23rd here, but not exactly sure cause I am having another c-section. For me the braxton hick feel more like a stabbing pain, if you understand, hehehe. You may feel unprepared, but trust me, you will feel right at home when the little one comes. Then you will wonder what you would ever do with out him/her. Pick any names yet? Weekend plans... not yet anyway... it is Friday, my hubby will probably be going out with the work crew, again. I am wondering what he would do if I left him with the 15 month old for a few hours. I just have no idea what I would do, or where I would go. What are your weekend plans? I think I am getting an ear infection... is it possible to pa__s an ear infection on? Must be nice to get the time off for Christmas! When I was working we got Christmas Day off and that was all. Wasn't fun.

Michelle - November 25

Sounds like you have a nice little romatic night planned. lol. We cheated and found out that this one "looks" like it will be a little boy. We cam up with Sebastien Arthur. Sebastien for something different and Arthur after my hubby's dad. I don't get too many nights away from my little one. Her daddy don't have the patience that I do. He gets stressed from work, blah, blah, yeah yeah, so I end up just telling him to go. His Christmas party is next weekend. Should be interesting... they are having it at the ski hill and we don't have any snow. What we got all melted and we have been getting REALLY warm weather. Yesterday was plus 12, I believe. Which province are you in? I am in Northern Alberta. Would you really want a c-section? I had to have one becasue I wouldn't progress and I was getting so tired, they even tried inducing me twice, never helped. I wanted to see my baby, and then they preped me. I am happy, I just don't like the healing process after. I won't be able to pick up my little girl for about 6 weeks. *waaaaa*. My sister is going to take her for about 2 weeks when the new one comes to help me out a bit. I think my Christmas shopping will be done at sears. Except for the stockings. This will be a fun Christmas, my little Alexandra will have fun this year. We will be getting our little one circ_msized if he does come out a boy, for cleanliness and because his daddy is and it is kind of a religious thing. I was told too that it is easier to take care of. I wouldn't know... I don't have one. heheh. It is the little umbilical cord that I was scared of with the first one. I was so afraid it was going to hurt her, or I was going to accidentily pull it off. It came off on its own and scared me just the same, until I realized she wasn't crying. Should be interesting a second time!

about 4 and a half hours from you.. Peace River. I am scared to go to the doc just because they weigh you. I was a little over weight to start with. On my ultrasound they said the baby weighs 3lbs and 9oz. I can hold the baby after the c-section, just not my older daughter. That is also why my sister is taking her. She lives in Falher. What a HUGE place that is. j/k it is so small, I don't think it is even really on the map. *laughs* I have been havign trouble sleeping lately because I have been so uncomfortable, from my legs to hips to the growing belly. This one isn't as much fun as the first, but I will keep enjoying it. I love to feel the baby move. my e-mail is midnight_shetan@hotmail.com. It is pretty neat that we are so close... yet so far.

Beth - November 25

I was skinny before I got pregnant, and I feel ya on the whole weighing in thing, I see numbers that I've never wanted to see on the scale before, unless maybe I was holding my 20 pound cat or something :) I don't know where fahlin is, there's lots of little towns that I don't know about though, so this doesn't surprise me! I've gained 20 pounds as of my last appointment, but it has been about 2 weeks, since I go again on monday, so I don't really know if I wanna know how much I've gaine din 2 weeks. I had "planned" on gaining 25 pounds, haha yeah right, I gained 10 pounds in a month a while ago, you really don't have any control over how much you gain, well you could eat healthy and work out, but still gain alot of weight. I don't really watch what I eat, I try and eat healthy so that the baby will get all teh nutrition that it needs, but I also eat nachos, and cookies, and chocolate muffins.....and I used to walk, but then it got cold out, and now that it's nice again I want to walk but it's so depressing because the only daylight hours are 8-4, which just so happens to be the hours I work. And I have no energy, I'm always exhausted, I don't really sleep very well either, my hips hurt alot, and my belly is getting in the way, I actually have to wake up to turn over, which takes quite a bot of effort, and usually a grunt or two :) In the last couple of weeks, actually since I hit the third trimester, I've noticed my eyesight is changing, I really don't want to have to pay to get my eyes checked, then get a different perscription of contacts, then go back once I have the baby and get my eyes tested again and get new contacts again. So I might just have to deal with it *sigh* just like every other stupid pregnancy symptom.

Hey everyone! Hope everyone had a good turkey day! we are in Germany where ofcourse they do not celebrate the holiday, but they seem to love helping us celebrate! It was great, we got the first snow of the year on Thursday evening and everything is nice and bright white! My little 2 year old is loving the snow- Dh is just terrified of me falling on all of the ice that is acc_mulating. Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Beth - November 25

Hey Heather-All of our snow has melted, I can't wait until it'll stick around. It always feels so fresh and clean once it has snowed. I'm also worried about slipping on the ice, just be careful!! Have a great weekend ladies!
