This is my first pregnancy and I toss and turn just about every night. If I'm laying on my right I wake up with my right arm numb and same if I lay on my left. Is this normal?

They say it is but bring it up to your doc at your next visit just to be safe...

I have the same problem and it is due to our circulation being cut off, if you sleep on the right side. I will wake up in the night completely numb on the left, head to toe. It is normal but necessarily good. The baby may be recieving less blood (oxygen) due to this. Try to slip a pillow on whichever side you are sleeping on, to lessen the pressure.

I actually had numbness on my whole right side. I went to the doctor and they did and MRI just to be on the safe side and found nothing. I then was sent to a neurologist and he said it is just severe compression from the baby and should go away after birth. Also you can get carpel tunnel during pregnancy which can make you numb or be a little painful. Im 37 weeks and just dealing with it, but I know it is agravating. Hope yours gets better...mine got worse.

I am having the same problem. I can't sleep lying down anymore, and the arm numbness is so severe i am unable to work. My obgyn told me it's either carpal tunnel, or a pinched nerve. You need to tell you ob, and have them schedule you with a ortho. asap!!!
