Yesterday my husband lost his job.. I have no idea what we are going to do now.. he makes over half of the income and I am due in less than 6 weeks. We live in a small area and there are not many jobs around.. I am so scared this sucks..

I'm very sorry about this. There is nothing I can say that would stop the worrying but please try and take it easy, its not good for the baby if you stress too much. Hopefully something better will come up for your husband. I can't imagine what you must be going through. Take care of yourself though because thats the most important thing right now.

Oh SamiB I feel for you! Could he possibly get unemployment? Do you have any family near by that can help out? It seems like the worst time I know. I'm a single mom and I've had several financial b__ws lately, I’m 38 weeks, and I do not get paid for my maternity leave and I often sit and think, and sometimes cry, about how I'm going to make it. I get depressed for awhile but then I pull myself together and try and think positive that I'll make it somehow, we always due. Sorry I don’t have much advice for you but just wanted to let you know I feel your pain and you both will figure out a way to make it somehow. Best of luck to you!

I'm so sorry to hear that. This is certainly not a time to have to go through this. I hope something comes through for him pretty quickly.

We're in the same boat. My husband just lost his job yesterday. I've got about 9+ weeks to go so I'm hoping he'll find something by then. If nothing else, he may end up waiting tables until he can get a better-paying job. Luckily we live in a metropolitan area so there's at least SOMETHING. Sending good vibes to you and your family and hoping employment comes knocking on the door!

Sami, so sorry about your husband losing his job. I know it's a stressful time, hopefully something will come up soon. Do you have family close by? We're in a similar situation, my DH works retail, but he's looking for a teaching position, but as he's a new teacher, he's not getting much. We've just decided to move back to my mother's if we hear nothing by August. Here's hoping something comes along for your hubby soon. Best of Luck.

now this just makes me mad...what kind of right arsehole sacks his employee right before he has a baby?? even though i dont know the situation, i still say that it would take ALOT of guts to do something like that, and no shame or guilt at all!!!! if that was my dh i would prolly back that employer into a corner and make him apoligise for all the suffering he has caused. who cares about him!! obviously he doesnt give a flying hoop.

I hear you dh lost his job about 2 weeks ago and was sure he was going to get the job he interviewed for 2 days later but still no word. I guess we are fortunate we have some money in saving to get us by but thats only going to last so long I am due in 7 weeks. Good Luck I am sure everything will work out for all of us.

Ladies, I understand what you're going through. My dh lost his job a few months ago, and is still looking for work. I'm at 31 weeks today, and I'll keep working full-time as long as I can, but have planned an extended leave after Camy comes, and I'm getting more and more anxious about how we're going to make it. I know how stressful and discouraging job hunting can be, but at the same time it's hard not to get frustrated with him when he only applies at a few places a day... meanwhile I am working a 40 hour week and carrying his baby. We're newlyweds, and I don't want to be the nagging wife, but it's just so hard to keep this fear and anxiety inside! Do you girls have any tips for staying positive and being supportive of your dh while still encouraging him to get out there and try? Thank you! Much love - Cmama
