Dandruff Control

My hairdresser cut my hair today. She told me that she had used a dandruff control called T/Gel while shampooing my hair because of my scalp dryness. I am very upset as I know I am not supposed to use this during pregnancy. I am 27 weeks. Has anyone else used this during pregnancy and been okay. I am calling my dr tomorrow but am going crazy tonight. T/Gel contains coal tar which is a no no during pregnancy due to it being a cellular control agent. If anyone has used it only once with okay pregnancy results so far, please let me know.

I've been using Head & Shoulders intensive care ( the dark blue bottle) my whole pregnancy. I don't know if its a no-no or not but my baby is doing just fine.

I've been using head and shoulders as well throughout my pregnancy.. Cabbie, dont worry too much.. From your 2-3 trimester the baby is pretty much developed, so not too much can go wrong. I've had xrays, taken pain medication, anesthetics.. Everytime I have had to do this I call my gyno to make sure.. and he tells me not too worry.. you arent washing your hair with it every day Cabbie.. dont worry!

I have used T-gel in my pregnancy. I have used it more than once. I am 37 weeks tomorrow and everything seems to be ok. I have had blood tests, sonos, etc. No problems reported. You should be fine. Up until today I didn't even know that T-gel could cause a problem with preganancy. Thanks for the info. I probabaly used it about once a month.

Thank you for your rea__surance. I have been so careful this pregnancy. I have even stopped using my face wash because some of the ingredients are unknown during pregnancy and now this. I have two little girls who I had with fertility help but now have had three miscarriages since Aug 04. This pregnancy really has been on edge even being as far a long as I am. I've already had to use antibiotics for bacterial vaginosis and cream for a yeast infection. I've also had the stomach flu severely and small fevers two other times (99-100) during this pregnancy. I fret about everything that doesn't say 100% AOKAY during pregnancy.

I meant to say "this pregnancy really has me on edge....."

Sounds perfectly natural to be on edge. I think we are all on edge at some point or another in our pregancy.
