the mucus plug can come out over a matter of weeks and have the appearance of more discharge, or it can come out in a big glob, sometimes containing a pink/brown/red tinge to it, or it can come out in strings over a week or so and it is more like.....snot...thicker and gooier than normal discharge..it doensn't always have to be tinged w/ color though, it can be just normal discharge color.

Mine was a gelatin-like glob, totally unmistakable!! It didn't look like regular discharge.... It was off white, no blood what-so-ever.

Ive been loosing alot of stingy gooey discharge for a couple weeks now... Its sometimes white, clear or yellow. Do you think its my plug? It dosent have any blood... but I loose some everyday... sometimes 5-8 times a day...

When I lost mine it came out in the matter of one day, over a course of a few bathroom breaks. At first it was yellowy white then it was clearish with a brown tinge. IT is very thick like Tammy said snotty or like DB said gelatin like. It seems like when I lost mine it did not take too long for it to finish off. You will know. A few times I thought that I lost it, but then when I did loose it I knew the difference.

FYI, you dont always loose it before labor... I lost mine when my water was broken by my dr. At the end of pregnancy discharge is at its high... I had to wear liners in my underware b/c it was so much.
