Dilation Without Effacement

Does anyone know if you can be dilated a few cm but not effaced?

Usually both occur at the same time in order for you to dilate properly. For instance if you are 1cm dilated with a firm cervix it can mean little or nothing but if you are 1cm dialted at 90% effaced then things are definitely moving towards labour. It is rare (as far as I have read and been told by my Doctors) for a woman to dilate without any sort of effacement at all.

I am 1 cm. and thick meaning no effacement......so it is possibe yes (39 weeks)
