Do BH Contractions Feel Different From Labor Contractions

Hello, I'm 39 weeks pregnant with my first child and have been experiencing pretty strong BH contractions for about a week or so now. They have even been as regular as every 6 minutes for hours but then will suddenly disappear. I was wondering if real labor starts out feeling the same way and they just increasingly get stronger and more painful and closer together or if it is a totally different sensation all together? Thanks!!

BH are beginner contractions as the real thing is a complete tightening and won't go away when you change positions (standing to sitting, laying to...standing). Best of luck..I am 38 weeks 6 days and no such luck on feeling contractions.....this is my 2nd pregnancy and I didn't feel braxton hicks or contractions until late in labor with DS. I also agree call your doctor/midwife if you haven't been seen in a day or two they may want you checked especially with the holiday coming up.

You will know the difference when the labor contractions start, there is no mistaking them for BH.

For me the BH were located only in my belly whereas the productive contractions of labor radiated to my back and pelvis also. They are FAR more painful. You'll know when you have a REAL contraction. Good luck!!
