Incredibly Thirsty

I'm 35 weeks pregnant and forgot to ask the doctor about this yesterday...figures. Anyway, I'm sooo thirsty lately- nothing calms me. I drink bottle after bottle of water. I've tried diet soda, milk, etc...nothing satisfies it. Anyone had something similar?

No but I have been told this is a sign of a urine infection - are you pee'ing more? SWorry for the personal question but if you are going the same or less and drinking more then that is a good indication of infection.

Excess thirst can also be a sign of a placental abruption. Although those are rare, it's definitely something you want to get diagnosed properly because it can have serious consequences for you and the baby. Some other signs of this could be spotting/bleeding, abdominal pain, and contractions that don't let up. By this I mean, your belly might firm up and not get soft a minute or two afterwards, like a "forever" contraction. I had a placental abruption with my first at 32 weeks that surprisingly had no symptoms until I was in full-b__wn labor (apparently labor was my only symptom) so we didn't even know I had abrupted until the placenta came out after the baby and the doctor could see the tearing along with lots of bleeding. We're all OK now, but my baby would have been a lot healthier if the abruption had been diagnosed sooner. Being in pre-term labor, they tried to stop it with drugs for awhile, and they wouldn't have done that if they knew about the abruption. I would suggest calling your doctor back and mentioning your thirst along with any other symptoms you might be having.
