Isabella was born at 1AM Thursday morning the 10th. I went into labor on the 9th, which was 1 day past my due date. I had been having contractions the whole night, which finally woke me up at 4am, they were 3-4 minutes apart. Then at 6:30am my water broke. It was like i peed myself, but i knew it was my water. at 7:30am there was another gush of my water breaking. mucus plug came out in pieces along with a bloody show. we called hospital to see if we should go in right away because my contractions were only 6 minutes apart at that time. they said to come in to make sure it was my water that broke. at 8;30 am we went in, by 9:30 we were all checked in and went to our room. contractions slowly built, they didnt check dilation until 1pm or, i was at 4 cm. by 3pm i took the epidural, was still only 4cm but contractions were painful. the epidural was great, but by 8pm i was only at a 5... it seemed to go no where, so they gave me some pitocin. it must have done the job because when they checked me an hour later i had gone from 5cm to 9 3/4 cm, the nurse was like, huh..mm, ok interesting.. yah well honey it looks like you are almost fully dilated. it was the best news! the doc was called, the crew came in and at 10:30 i started to push. but the epidural made it so i couldn't feel when the contractions were coming. i pushed a few different positions, for 2 1/2 hours! the nurse had turned down my pitocin drip once i was fully dilated, which made the contractions go further apart again. i could have yelled at her (later of course) but her shift had ended and she wasnt there. finally they increased the pitocin again, and i was able to feel the contractions, which felt great, no pain but lots of pressure. just before that, the doc mentioned that if it took much longer we'd have to use vacc_m or c-section, i was determined to get her out. she was born at 1:02AM, there was meconium present due to the stress of the birth, but she was given a 7 on the 1 minute apgar and then a 9. She is still a litle jaundiced, but is getting better. She weighed 6lbs 14 oz, 20 1/2 inches long. She is the most beautiful little girl, we feel so blessed by God and are so in love with her!! i wish you all the very best in these last days/weeks of pregnancy...i hope you enjoyed my birth story.

thank you! We are so happy... and baby is doing well. Jennifer, yah labor was long.. but thank God for the epidural, it really made the whole process really enjoyable and relatively pain free. I had a 2nd degree tear, so i'm healing from the stiches, but i feel great already and am SO happy to finally sleep in any position i want! Julie, you are almost there! Before you know it, you'll be holding your little one in your arms. do you know yet if it's a boy or girl?
