so this is your first one jenn? are you excited?

Jenn2 - June 7

mommie2b- I am very excited...yet a little nervous about the whole thing. It will be allot of learning in the beginning with taking care of a baby. I'm sure when its your second.....you are a pro at it. Are you going to ask your doctor to induce you on friday?

awe, mommie2b, you must be miserable! i know how you feel, my son was 9lbs 4oz, so i know what it's like to be lugging around such a big baby... i was so ready to have him, but i was still 8 days past due date when they induced me! i had even been like 3cm dialated and i think at least 80% effaced when i got to the hospital, so i don't think that stuff matters at all, but that being said, i am really concerned that my cervix has done next to nothing at this point! i don't know which one is worse! were you induced w/ your daughter or did you go on your own? and have you made any progress yet as far as dialtion, etc? oh, and do you think you have dropped? they say not every 2nd time mom or more drops until actual labor, but she feels so low, but i've felt pretty low the whole time so i can't really tell... i'll bet your daughter is SOOO excited... i know my son is... everyday, he tells my belly, 'come out, we're ready to see you,' so cute! so Jenn2, i am only betting i'll have my baby before you because i am being induced, because i'm convinced this baby would stay in me til at least 42 weeks if she could and my doctors would let her! i hope i'm wrong, though... i was thinking that maybe since i had progressed so much w/ my son and still was induced past 40 weeks that this one would just come quickly on her own before medical intervention!! good luck tomorrow , mommie2b, keep us posted!

oh, and Jenn2 i meant to tell you that for me, taking care of a baby came SOOO naturally... i mean, it was a life-style adjustment, but i was very confident about my parenting skills, and this was coming from a girl who didn't want kids, really, and got pregnant on her wedding night, lol! i never saw myself being a mother but it is the best job i have ever had and love it!!! i think the hardest part is just the first few weeks because our bodies have gone through so much and we're also trying to deal w/ so much change (but good change!) so quickly...but yeah, this time, i really don't have any fear! (except for the delivery!) i remember thinking after i had my son i could never imagine having to take care of more than 1 child at a time, lol, but now, pfft... bring it on, LOL! just thought i'd share a few words of wisdom... as long as you know you no longer come first, you'll be 'world's greatest mom!'

lindsay - June 8

oh, nevermind mommie2b, i just re-read your water broke and you had a dry birth, so i guess you did go on your own!

Jenn2 - June 8

Well, here it is.....4:15am and I can't go back to sleep due to a stopped up nose and waking up to go to the bathroom. I have been getting this the entire 3rd trimester of my pregnancy, but it has gotten worse lately. I read that the membranes swell around the nose b/c of the increase in blood volume. My mother said that happened with her and it went away after she delivered. ahhh!! Its frustrating loosing so much sleep. Has this happened to you guys during pregnancy? Isn't wierd how most 1st time moms go overdue? It almost makes you think doctors shoud add more days to a 1st time moms due date b/c a majority do go over their due dates?? mommie2b- I guess you will seeing your doctor today.......let us know what happens in your appointment. Lindsay- are you really going to ask to be induced on friday? If your doctor lets you would you plan it for this weekend or next week?

lindsay - June 8

jenn2-well, i go to the doctor tomorrow, but i'm not actually being induced until monday... but i would wait a full 42 weeks until i got induced if my doctor let me... it's just there is fear that w/ the type of placenta i have that w/ it "aging" it will compromise my baby's health...so of course i want what's best, but i am so nervous for this to happen if i don't dialate / efface just a little bit even on my own!i guess that's why i'm going to the doctor tomorrow since i was just there monday... i'm having an nst and an ultrasound, i surmise to make sure evreything still looks a-ok... and i'll have to get another internal to see if i've progressed AT ALL, but something tells me that i'm not going to budge! i plan on discussing my induction in detail, though, addressing that i want to go as long as possible before a new step is taken(ex... cervidil for awhile before pitocin, NOT breaking my water until i have make significant progress, because i don't want to get there at 7am and them break it as soon as i start to dialate and then them be like well, we have to get you delivered because of the chance of infection, etc, etc, and end up c-section because they did it prematurely, you know?)basically, as long as i am progressing, slow as it may be and me and especially my baby girl are holding up well, i would like to be able to just keep going w/out any c-section talk unless it really is deemed necessary! as for the stuffy nose, no, luckily it is not something i get regularly, bu ti have heard it is common. although, i came down w/ a little cold last week and was freaking out because i could not see how i could get through labor unmedicated if i couldn't breathe through my nose... that is my whole plan, lol... in through the nose, out throught the mouth!! thankfully, it was a very short-lived cold... but you know what kills me when sleeping? leg cramps... YIKES... sometimes i have to jump ou tof bed and put pressure on my leg to "work it out" and i wake up in the morning feeling like my muscle is bruised wherever the charlie horse was... i hate it! mommie2b, what did your doctor say?? did they schedule your induction? i know you want it now, but maybe you'll go on monday like me :-) any progress? well, take care girls and come out babies... we're SOOO ready!! lol

Jenn2 - June 8

Lindsay- I appologize....you had already told me you had a scheduled induction for monday (brain farts are common with me right now). My doctor has not done an ultrasound on me since 20 weeks, so I dont know how I would ever know if my placenta were deteriorating? I am like you.....I would like things to happen as naturally as possible. I do know that my doctor is ver laid back, and as long as there are no complications.....he will let you go as long as it takes...unless you have the desire to be induced. mommie2b- let us know about your appointment when you get back. hope all is well.

lindsay - June 8

OH, and i forgot to say "Happy Due Date Day!" you 2!

Jenn2 - June 8

I am starting to see why women get irritated at this point when there is no baby yet. I have already had 3 people call me today to see if I'm still pregnant. I'm thinking...."its just now my due date??". There is something depressing about it being your due date, and not having any signs of impending labor. I did not think I would feel this way...but I do. mommie2b- we have not heard from you today.....I'm not sure how early in the day your appointment was? Who knows.....maybe you went straight to the hospital to be induced or went right into labor???

lindsay - June 8

I KNOW!!! that was totally me yesterday! do people, especially family, think we're just not going to call if we go into labor, enough to warrant a trip to the hospital or deliver!!?? and the whole due date thing... i think they should take the day you're 40 weeks and the day you're 42 weeks and average the 2.. (i guess that would be the 41 week mark, lol, boy, i'm quick, lol) because i'm beginning to think that unless induced or schedulesd c-section, more women than not pa__s up their "due dates"... it also makes you wonder why they just don't say that the 42 week mark is your due date... if the baby is not ready to come until then, then isn't that when you're due?? i know it is more of a loose medcal reference , but come on now, we're hormonal enough! but i'm w/ you... feel fine, no signs of impending labor... only thing i notice different today is the crazy amount of pressure i have, mostly when i am standing up, so maybe she has come down a bit more... i am considering walking on my treadmill today/tonight... it's gorgeous out but so d__n hot! i'm still not clear on whether it is solely contractions that make you dialate, or if cervical pressure aids in this BEFORE active labor/transition... do either of you know? cause i would stand the rest of the day if so... it is so uncomfortable, if i were dialated, i think she'd fall out for as rough as the pressure feels, lol! well, still no word from mommie2b, maybe she got her wish!!

Jenn2 - June 8

Lindsay- I'm starting to think it is just you and me now. No sign of mommie2b all day. Wow! you better not leave me waiting by myself. I have my doctors appointment at 9:30 tommorow morning, so hopefully I will have allot of progress. Is your appointment early or late in the day?

lindsay - June 8

LOL, i meant to ask you the same thing... mine's at 10 but by the time i get in there, have my nst, u/s and reg appt, then get back home (plus will probably stop for lunch w/my son) it'll be afternoon by the time i get on here... so don't worry if you don't see me for awhile! yeah, i don't know... mommie2b might just be on her way to mommie -of-2 !! good for her... i HOPE we go this weekend... or sooner! for awhile now , "thursday" has been stuck in my head for some reason, but if i don't go into labor in the next 7 hours, i'll be convinced that i really am going to have to be induced on monday and not go on my own! : ( if they ask you about induction , are you going to go ahead and schedule it for your 42 week mark or just totally wait it out and see what happens?

Jenn2 - June 8

If my doctor asks me about induction I will tell him that it is really the last resort for me......unless medically urgent. I know if I get pitocin I wil probably get the epidural, and I want to try to have her as naturally as possilbe. I really dont feel I will make it to 42 weeks......I feel like it will be sometime in the next week....just dont know when. I dont know why I feel that way....its not that I have any major labor symptoms or anything. I think its just a gut instinct. anyway, I am convinced now that mommie2b is having her baby. By the time she gets home from the hospital you and I may not be around..haha. we will just have to see. keep me posted

Lindsey - June 8

Hi, as you can see i'm the 'e' Lindsey, just thought i'd say hello as i'm pretty muh in the same boat as you 2. I'm 40 weeks on Sunday and not really showing any signs of labour yet. I'm so fustrated now as I want to meet my little one. I don't know what the s_x is and I am getting jealous of everyone that is having their babies already. I know my time will come but it's so warm here and I'm huge. I'm worried that if I have to go to 42 weeks I will be giving birth to a 12lb. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow at 11:30 and I'm going to ask her if she will consider inducing me. Are you 2 against being indced???. It's my own birthday next Thursday so I'm hoping for it before then, that will be the best birthday pressie ever!!! Good Luck, hope you don't mind me saying hello
