Hi! My last two pregnancies I gained 10 and 8 pounds respectively, and this one I've yet to gain 7. My babies were 7lbs11oz, and 8lbs3oz. I'll find out the weight of this one during my next u/s. My docs never seemed to be too concerned about low weight gain when asked, but I am about 40 lbs overweight, so I am not sure if this has anything to do with their lack of concern..? I was very glad to not have to deal with the extra weight from pregnancy to go along with my quit smoking weight though! Have they given you had an u/s yet to check your baby's growth? Best of luck to you!

Women who are generally overweight tend to put on less weight than women who are a normal or underweight. It has something to do with pregnancy causing the female body to store fat to incubate the baby and to have something to burn during b___stfeeding, as well of course, as the weight of baby, placenta, extra blood, amniotic fluid and b___st tissue that you carry during pregnancy anyway. I was slightly overweight with my first pregnancy and only put on 17 pounds, with my second I was a normal healthy weight and I'm put on 35 pounds, but oddly enough I look alot smaller this time around. I'm also carrying a bigger baby.

I am 36.4 week pregnant and and so far has gained 25 pounds! I was underweight before i have gotten pregnant. My doctor said it is normal to gain more weight when you are thin/slim in the beginning. For those who are overweight tend to gain less weight throughout their pregnancies. Dont worry as long as your baby weighs normal. Enjoy your pregnancy and good luck!

I'm 36 weeks and have gained about 28 pounds. Not for nothing, but I'm very slim and get comments ALL the time as to how I don't even look pregnant until I turn around and you see my stomach. So have to honestly say, it is 28 pounts ALL in my belly and b___bs. I'm just wondering since I'm so small/slim, how anybody can be 29 weeks and gaining 2 pounds?? or even 8 or 10 pounds at that point. It seems impossible so late in the pregnancy that all the fluid and stuff alone must way more than 2 pounds. Anyway, that's great! My doctors tell me that you don't want to gain a lot of weight so be glad you're on that track :)

I am 37w 4d and I haven't gained anything yet....My weight gain is fine because I had about 20 pounds to lose going into the pregnancy...Hope that helps.

11yrs ago I only gained 13lbs my entire pregnancy with DS. This time I'm carrying a girl.. I'm a lil over 34wks and I've lost almost 20lbs since becoming pregnant.. I'm a pet_te person at only 5'2 to begin with. They aren't concerned.. I've had 8 ultrasounds and I'm scheduled for a 9th on the 30th. At 32wks she was just one ounce shy of 4lbs so she is growing on schedule. The OB says the baby is starving me, she is taking EVERYTHING I put in and leaving my body with nothing. The important thing is that she is getting what she needs and they are certain she is. Good luck to you.

You have to remember that your weight shuffles around too. I'm 28weeks and have gained 24 pounds i started out at 134. I have a stomach disease and had constant diarreah for years, now im regular and i guess all the good stuff is being absorbed. My doc said that my weight will shuffle around, loose a pound here but put it on there.

I actually lost weight with all of my pregnancies! With my oldets I was kind of scared... I mean I was eating a lot and it's not like me to lose weight so easily. Plus, my belly never got real big, so I was concerned. He came out 9 lbs. 5 oz. and 21" LOL. My belly did get big with my next two, but I lost weight the whole time with those pregnancies as well. They were 8 lbs. 3 oz. 20 1/2" and 10 lbs. 6 oz. 22 3/4"... so I guess no one was starving in there :-D

lol Sahmof3... I lost 18 pounds in the first 4 months, gained a little here and there, then lost 5 pounds one month, then 2 pounds...It been strange. I gained 60 pounds with my first and 22 pounds with my second, but this one is completely different! I can't put weight on! It's kind of nice. I am not worried (because I know I can lose it if I do) but no matter what I eat, I don't gain weight...I wish it was like that when I am not The only weight estimate I have so far was at 35ish weeks and my doctor said he was between 6 and 6 1/2 pounds...My belly isn't half as big as it was with the first two, but I feel SO HEAVY! I actually had a lady ask me if I was getting a new baby for the new I am over 37 weeks!

well im not over weight at all... and i was in like peak physical shape for college soccer when i got pregnant... then i had horrible morning sickness up until 6 months in then it went away... and my small amount of wieght gain is bothersome... cause i barely show... most people dont even think im pregnant unless i tell them.. and when i do they think im like 4 months maybe.. it's weird... but i mean this is my first so i have nothing to go off of... maybe its cause im young too .. im only 19

socurbaby7: I lost 20 pounds the first 3 months due to morning sickness - and then only gained 12 lbs back. I thougt I was small and hardly anyone ever guessed I was pregnant. I asked my doctor all the time if I was underweight and he said I was fine. A month and half before I was due - I saw a nurse instead who said I looked small and wanted me to have an u/s with a specialist. 2 weeks of fetal heart monitoring and u/s - the specialist found out that my placenta was not properly working and that the baby was starving - so guess who arrived a month early at 4 lbs 10 oz - my DD. If you have any questions or doubts - have your doctor check it out!!!
