Ne1 Becoming A Bit Nervous Anxious

I am 33weeks today, and apart from the usual disturbances when trying to sleep at night like the frequent urination & heavy belly to manouvre, I am finding that I am not sleeping as well. My sleep has become quite disrupted & I find myself lying in bed wide awake just thinking & dont even realise it until it clicks that "hey i should have my eyes shut & be asleep!" LOL. Then when i do fall asleep I find I wake up every couple of hours, even if I dont need to go to the toilet immediately, for some reason I am just woken up and have very intermittant sleep right now. Is this common in the third trimester or could it be due to perhaps some anxiety or becoming nervous about the impending birth in 7wks? :S This is my first, so ofcourse I am going to be a bit anxious but... I dont know, feels funny.

Hey WGO - I am up at all hours too - I know they say it's natures way of preparing us for the lack of sleep to come...I am finding that I sleep well from about 5 - 7:30 am - when my bladder is mostly empty. They say to lean forward as much as you can when you do pee - to empty your bladder as much as you can. I am 34 weeks now. If you are able try to nap during the day - that is helping me a bunch. PLUS I bet the baby is waking you up and you don't know it. Our little guy goes a bit nuts at night when I am sleeping and his kicks wack me up. Pretty normal stuff I think - try to rest - even if you are not sleeping. Get lot's of pillows and comfy yourself into a side sleeping position!

I agree with redmondsky I have heard that frequently getting up at night is natures way of preparing us for being up over and over with feedind and caring for our lo's .... this is also my first and I'm either 32 or 34 weeks...(due date calculation says 34 dr said 32???) and I am super super nervous....I am also anxious to meet my lo and it makes it harder to fall asleep cuz my mind goes wild thinking about it at night.... but it will all work out....and ill take the lack of sleep..lol I think it would be harder to be getting perfect sleep and then BAM ur up every hour or so...lol...at least this way we r kinda used to it.... :) bless u and ur little one

Nature must have some method to her madness right? lol. Would explain the "nesting" also then I take. I sleep pretty good from around 6-8am, but during the night it's pretty up & down. I don't mind a great deal because it's not like I am wearing myself out too much during the day, so I am not really lacking in sleep. If I am extremely tired during the day I will take a nap - but usually I try not to sleep until the usual bed time at night. Otherwise, it makes sleeping even harder! lol. By the way, with sleeping on your side, I have been wondering lately if our lo's getting squished to one side? Call me silly, but what happens when we are on one side asleep with our bubs in our belly? Surely they aren't suspended in the amniotic fluid & just float do they? LOL - There is no way I might squish him at all is there?

I can feel my lo move to the other side of my stomach when I lay down...and then when I switch sides s/he moves across to the other side.... yes I would think nesting is natures form of giving u that energy to prepare ur house for ur lo...even though sometimes our nesting is a lil extreme...lol... I have been doing a form of nesting lately..but I don't think its full b__wn yet...lol...hopefully not :)
