No Job No House No Unemployment 1st Baby

My husband recently lost his pastor job last month due to conflict-resolution issues our church has (they don't like to resolve conflict). This job included a parsonage (all-expense paid home) and because churches dont pay into unemployment (non-profit) we wont be able to receive unemployment. I am 8 months pregnant with our 1st baby girl due August 2nd and the church wants us out July 31st! I started packing already and am completely trusting that God knows what He is doing, but it's starting to get scary. I started having strong braxton contractions, I am feeling really depressed, and we aren't able to buy or rent without reliable/steady employment. The church offered 1 month compensation and insurance through August - after that we're on our own. I guess I am asking for any similar stories, suggestions and prayers - Just when we thought we had everything together to start a family the rug was pulled out from under us.

Do you have any family you could stay with? The one thing with family is that they could help out a lot with a newborn. Keep your faith, I'm sure something will come up.

Angela, first I would like to say that I'll be praying for you. I feel where you are coming from, however, I feel I got lucky in my situation. My husband and I worked at the same company. I got sick with morning sickness and fired from work. Fortunately my husband is still working, but making very little money. We live in San Diego and could not afford our rent on one salary. After four interviews I realized that no one will hire a pregnant woman. We decided to do what Tanya advised and are now living with my dad. It's not so fun and I would rather be on our own of course, but we had to do what we had to do. I'm so sorry if you have no family around, in that case I wouldn't have much advice. Good luck to you and God bless.

Count me in for another prayer - I can't believe your church would do this to your family. I hope everything works out for you.

Angela, I will be praying for you too. Its hard to see at the time, but trust God, He will never let you down. Remember He knows what you need before you do. He has a bigger plan for you and your family. One of the youth Pastors at our Church got an outside job to supplement his families income. Are you in Canada? I guess we are supposed to be having some kind of job boom happening. Who knew. Sorry not much to offer you in the way of advise. Tanya had a good idea though. Just remember that God loves you and won't let you down. Its just hard waiting becasue He comes in His time not ours. Take care (Tamara)

Angela....I am so sorry about your situation......I'm so glad that you're trust God in this hard time....just remember to hang in there....God always has the perfect plan for your life although especially now it may seem rather dim...things always turn out for the better! I'm praying for you and your only advice is to keep pressing on and stay close to God and loved ones!

I will be praying for you all as well. Hopefully this is God closing a door to open a better one for you and your family. Things like this really make you question stuff and I will pray for endearing strength for you and your family during these times. I am so sorry.

That is just so horrible. I will say some words for you everyday :) Keep your faith, and hopefully you can find some family or friends that will help out at least for a little while. You could also try to apply for some temperary a__sistance, they are really good in situations like yours. Best of Luck

Angela, I wish u and your family the best of luck.We had a scary situation happen a few months ago but nothing as heartbreaking as yours. My husband went to work one morning and had a note on his timecard and was notified that he was be laid off right at that moment. At the time I was 7 months preg and not working. So guess what?? At 7 months preg I had to get a job which I was not happy about but I knew I had to do whatever it took to care for my family especially not knowing how the rent would get paid and worrying that my car would be reposessed. To make matters worse,my husband then got into a car accident and hurt his back which put him even farther away from being able to work.Anyway,I knew I couldn't worry about things so I put my Faith in a higher power and we are now focusing on bringing this baby into the world safe and healthy.Just remember things will get better for you and your family and try not to stress too much because it could make yourself and baby sick.

Thank you everyone for your words of comfort & prayers... we actually do have family in the area which will allow us to stay with them - although we are trying to find a place to rent instead so that the baby wont disrupt their lives... my husbands sister & husband wants us to stay with them which is comforting, but would mean I was alone w/ her husband all day b/c he works from home & that's a little uncomfortable. I have an inheritance also coming in from my grandfather which would help tremendously to buy a house or pay rent, but the executor might be doing something illegal with it instead of thinking of our best interest - it's God's money & we're His children so fear is not an option, but please pray that the baby is taken care of in the best way possible.
