I'm 37 weeks and I'm not getting any quality sleep at all. I feel like c__p, my hips are numb, it's hard to find a comfy postion at night, and I feel so unrested in the mornings when I wake up. I love being pregnant but I hate the sleeping part. I haven't had a decent night of sleep for 3 weeks now, and it's only getting worse the bigger I get. I know everyone says to take it easy these last few weeks and try to sleep as much as you can b/c you'll need the energy for Labor, but I don't see that being possible. Anyone else going through this as well?? I would love to hear from some of you ladies.

Oh yes I am right there beside you. I pretty much wake up every hour on the hour. Either to pee, eat or because of my hips. I feel like an elderly lady. Night before last was the worst yet. I fell asleep on the couch and woke up around 2 ish. My hips kinda locked up and when I went to stretch I had to worst charlie horse in my calf. The the bh came on. I am ready for this kid. Everyone says oh you are getting more sleep now then when he comes. And I said at least if i wake up in the middle of the night when he gets here it is not because I am in pain!!!

i know what you mean about not being able to sleep though... i have been having this problem since i have been like 32 weeks...only getting worse as time pa__ses..i am now 37 weeks also and sleep only lasts nicely for about an hour or less... i tend to toss and turn alot and everytime i do this i have to fix the pillow that is between my legs and my thighs and hips hurt like hell....i feel as though if things keep going this way i am wondering where in hell i will get the energy to push this lil one out. lol.

Well I am sort of in the same boat. I am 37 weeks to and if I am not up to pee every hour I wake up because of really really bad heartburn. It is so bad it wakes me up and I work full time still so if it waskes me up at about 2:00 I am up until at least 5:00 when it finally goes away, but I can't lay down until about 5:00. Then I have to wake up for work at about 7:30. Not fun! I will go to be with no heartburn and wake up in the middle of the night with it.

You may want to ask your doctor, specially being this far along, ... mine okay'd it for me, ... but to take tylenol PM, just one tho... and it helps, I still getup to go potty, but it helps ease pain and/or sleep through it better.

lauren - December 11

I can soooo relate to you!!! Im now 1 day overdue, and i don't think iv'e slept well for abuot 2 months!! I even asked my doc for sleeping pill, but they didn't help. The pain is horrible, my hips are killing me,and every time i roll over they crack! I have a mountain of pillows on my bed, but nothing helps. I keep telling myself its practice for when the baby comes, id better get used to sleepless nights........ Good luck to all you mommies to be!!!

It's really good to hear from all of you. Wow, it makes me feel a whole lot better knowing that we're all going through this. I was talking with a friend who is also 9 months pregnant and she said she was sleeping fine, getting her full 8 hours of sleep...........I was so envious of her! I wish I was able to sleep a solid 4 hours let alone 8!

I am only 30 weeks and can´t sleep at all. I suffocate if I lay on my back, if I lay on my left side my legs cramp to the point where I woke up last night screaming and dh had to rub them for 5 mins before I got any sensation back; laying on my right side makes my ribs and kidney hurt. I have been sleeping and average of 3 hours since last week and it is very poor quality sleep.

Lisa - December 12

Take 2 benadryl, It is the same ingredient as Tylenol PM without the pain medicine. I started doing thing each night and I am only waking up once. The only downsided is you are more groggy in the morning. Bendryl is safe throughout your pregnancy per my doctor.

elizabeth - December 12

I am just about 31 weeks and have trouble sleeping, i wake up about 4 times a night to go to the bathroom, which that really isnt the problem, its just that i wake up being so uncomfortable more. I sleep on my back which is fine for like an hour or two, then i cant lay on my left side because my legs cramp horribly and my stomach starts to cramp, then the best side really is my right, but cant sleep on that side long or it starts to hurt. So there is really no way to make me comfortable. I also love being pregnant but like dani said i wish i could get at least 4 hours of straight sleep....that would be nice. Its all worth it though of course, but just gets very nerve racking. i would hate to see myself in another few weeks or month or so....

Emy - December 15

Well, you can tell by the time of my post that I am not sleeping either. In fact, I have not slept all night and since it is almost five and I have to get up for work at 6:30, I am kind've wondering what the point is now. My problem is serious nasal congestion. I can't take benadryl because it is supposed to make congestion worse. So....I guess I will just have to 'suffer' until this cold pa__ses. But I am miserable. The bottom of my nose is all red and the under my eyes is dark. I never thought the third trimester would be so uncomfortable! I am sad you are going through sleepless night too, but happy I am not alone!

Dana - December 15

Emy, tell me about the nasal congestion! In between the hourly trips to the bathroom to pee, I am tossing from side to side just to get some relief from atleast one side of my stopped up nose. Blowing my nose doesn't help at all, it makes it worse. I just keep telling myself that I don't have much longer and it will all be worth it in the end. I am 33 weeks....can't wait to be able to breathe again!
