Please Pray For My Baby Boy My Birth Story

Hello everyone- after months of reading everyone's stories, it's finally my turn. I was due on July 5th, but for the past two weeks, I had been having contractions and the such and I was told that castor oil worked only if the baby was ready to come out. I decided to give it a try and took half the recommended dosage. An hour later, the contractions started. I was fortunate and did not experience any of the other castor oil side effects. The contractions started about 5pm on sunday evening. I went for a couple long walks and by the time i returned from the last one, the contractions were 2-3 min apart and were more painful (but i could still walk and talk through them). I called my midwife and she told me to come in and see where I was at. I really did not expect to be kept... I thought they would send me home. I got to the hospital and they checked me and told me that I was only 1cm and 80% effaced. She told me to walk around for an hour and if nothing progressed, she would send me home. So i went out to walk the halls and 20 min later at 12:50am, my water broke... so they admitted me. I had my two labor coaches with me and I called my mom who lives 3 hours away. They started my antiboitics for GBS and labor progressed. I had decided to have no drugs, and while it was okay at first, I wanted them after a while... I was so not prepared for the pain. I had also planned on using the birthing ball and walking and using the tub, but once the contractions got more painful, all I could do was lay in the bed. They checked me again at about 3:35am and I was 3cm dialated. Then baby's heartrate started dropping and they put me on oxygen. The oxygen was actually really helpful for me as well because the breathing through the contractions was making me lightheaded. Just when I thought I was about to demand pain meds, they checked me again at 4:15am and I was 9cm dialated. I had 2 more regular contractions and then started pushing. 4 contractions and 11 minutes later, Sage Rhythm was born at 4:34am, weighing 6lbs 3oz and 18in long. My mom finally made it 10 minutes after he was born. I only had a small tear requiring 4 st_tches. Other than the fact that I hemmoraged and lost way too much blood, everything seemed alright and we were moved to the recovery room. When they took him to bath him, they noticed that he was grunting a lot and when they drew blood, he didn't cry. They put him on an oxygen sensor and his levels were way low. Watching them put the oxygen tubes in my little boy's nose made me bawl, but then hearing that he was being admitted to the NICU was even worse. The first day they told me to expect him to stay 2 weeks. It turns out that he may have contracted an infection from the GBS because I didn't get the antibiotics in time. He is also measuring 2 weeks younger than his 38 weeks and his lungs are not fully developed. I am not sure how that is possible cause I know the exact date of conception... but oh well. He started br___tfeeding (sorta) today and they are gradually tapering off his oxygen. So far all of his blood work has come back negative for an infection, so it appears that he may get to leave in a couple days. Due to me loosing so much blood, they are keeping me a littel longer too which is actually nice cause that is less time at home without him. All in all, he is a gorgous little boy! And labor without drugs is hard, but it totally possible (and worth it in my opinion)! I stil can't believe that I only had a 3.5 hour active labor with my first child!
