I woke up this morning with incredible pain in my right hip. I tried hot water. Didn't help...No position is confortable. I can barely get dressed. Any suggestions? Thanks

I get this too. Mine usually goes away if I go for a small walk. I think its just with all the pressure and streching happening down there. I feel your pain sister!

Babycrazy, I've had pain every morning in my left hip for weeks, no matter what side I sleep on. I start off limping every morning. It gets better in a few hours. It's probably just because your hips are getting ready to separate for delivery. I've tried a pillow between my legs and a pillow under my hips. It hasn't been much relief. If anyone has any suggestions, I'd like to hear them too. I've just been dealing with it.

Well I took a warm bath, and it helped . but as soon as I got out it was still there. it's been three hours and it's not getting better. I hope it goes away soon. Cause I can't lay down or sit down unless it's in the tub. dh is gone to get me some tylenol. I hope that helps!

Try to sleep with a pillow between your legs all night long tonight! I had this too, and the pillow pretty much cured it--but try to keep it there all night.

Sciatic nerve. Gotta love it. I also have been battling that for months. Swimming and stretching are the best ways to alleviate that pain.

Interesting thought, angelbebe--sciatic nerve didn't even occur to me. Doesn't it run from your lower back through your b___t and into your legs? I thought hip pain was something else because that nerve isn't in your hip. Anyone know?

Yeah, I've had sciatic nerve pain but I really don't think that this is it. This is much more painful. it has been about 5 hours now. The tylenol helped a little but not for long. I guess I'll have to put up with it. I will try harder with a pillow tonight. I move so much at night that the pillow always ends up either on the floor or anywhere but under my leg. Thanks for the suggestions.

I had this pain too. IT was severe pain for me. I couldn't walk, sit, or lay down. I explained it to my Dr. and she said it would really help if I did some stretches before I got up. Just stretch the insides of your legs.

ive never had hips pains in my life before the past few weeks. although i only really get it in my left hip when i lift up my leg...like when im putting pants on....it really hurts although im not worried about it. i was however thinking about asking my doc if it would affect delivery in any way. the last thing i want is going through delivery pain with a sore hip untop of it!

Well, I went to the hospital last night to get checked out. I had called my doctor and because of the degree of pain that I was in he told me to come in right away. Guess what? it has nothing to do with the pregnancy. Turns out he's pretty certain that I have arthritis. I'm so sad because I'm a very active person. I guess I don't know enough about arthritis but if this is how it feels I don't want it. Anyway thanks for your input girls. What some of you girls have is probably your sciatic nerve.

It may not be the sciatic nerve...I just know that the muscles surrounding that nerve are around your bum and side of pelvis making that area really sore and achy. Sometimes it'll give you pain down your leg, but not always. Whatever it is, it sucks doesn't it?!!

It may not be the sciatic nerve...I just know that the muscles surrounding that nerve are around your bum and side of pelvis making that area really sore and achy. The muscles around there contract to protect that nerve when pressure is put on it. Sometimes it'll give you pain down your leg, but not always. Whatever it is, it sucks doesn't it?!!

Sorry, that got sent twice!

Oh, didn't read that last entry...I hear arthritis can come on because of pregnancy...will be interested to see if it totally goes away afterwards. I wouldn't be too concerned yet.

I had this on my lower abdomen and both my hips, i think my pelvic bones are seperating.
