Pumping

Someone suggested pumping prior to having the baby to get the soreness done and gone before baby gets here. My mother suggested just roughing the nipples up with a dry washclothe.(that i have heard) Do you think the pumping idea is bad? I know it probably shouldnt be done for a very long period of time a day, cuz it can stimulate contractions. What about messing with your milk production? Does your milk not start producing untill the baby is born?

I do not think pumping would be a great idea because you dont want your milk in when the baby arrives. You want your baby to have all the colostrum. That is the best stuff! I have also heard of roughing up the nipples, but when I had my baby I b___stfed for a while and I had no problems with soreness in my nipples, just soreness from really big b___bs!
