Rainie Had Baby Read Up

Well I posted a little over a week ago saying I think its about time. It was! Actually I was having regular contractions for 3 days, and it was back labor. I finally went to the hospital on the night of the 20th to get a morphine shot so I could sleep one last night at home before having the baby. I went in the next morning at 6am, and got started on pitocin to get things going faster, had my water broke at 9am which put me at 7cm really fast and labor got HARD!!! Finally at 10:30 I got an epidural because I was freaking out in pain, but had to wait for a surgery to be done. The epidural was wonderful, but I couldn't feel anything so I didn't get checked again until noon, I was at 10cms but I didn't feel like I needed to push and the doctor was in an emergency c-section so I didn't start pushing until 2pm. I pushed for two hours with out much progress so the doc checked the babies head position and said that he needed to turn the baby. So they upped the epidural, the doc reached in and turned baby, and I continued to push for two more hours. Now it's 6pm and I've been pushing for 4 hours! Bad news... baby isn't gonna fit (remember I said he was in 95th percentile!). So they told me I had to have a c-section. I was SOOOO scared!!!!!!! I started shaking uncontrollably, but knew that this was my only option. My mom got her scrubs on and met me in the surgery room. 6:34 pm January 21st I heard my precious Joey's first cry :' ) But he was rushed off to get x-rays and other tests done because he was breathing funny. I didn't get to see my baby until 10pm over 3 hours after he was born!! He was all hooked up to monitors, and I only was able to hold him for 30minutes before he had to go back to the nursery. By the next morning 8am, they decided he could be taken off the monitors and be in my room with me as much as I want. He didn't leave my room except for the checkups with the pediatritian. Baby Joey developed jaundice because I have flat nipples and couldn't nurse, he lost 1 pound. I had to tape formula tubes to my nipples to feed him until my milk came in. When my milk came in I had to pump, then tape a tube to my finger to feed him my br___tmilk. The morning of discharge was Monday the 24th, they gave me nipple shields for my flat nipples which made it possible for me to br___t feed. He is doing a lot better and the jaundice looks the be almost all gone. I love him SO SO SO MUCH, he is sooo beautiful! Joey Andrew- 8lbs 13oz, 21", lots and lots of dark brown hair, blue eyes, tan skin, 10 fingers and 10 toes!
