Sciatica After Baby Is Born

Hi everyone, just wondering if any mothers here that may have had sciatica AFTER their baby was born. I had Ethan a week ago, and over the weekend, it was so bad I couldn't move my left foot and leg enough to get out of bed. I just rolled from side to side to feed Ethan and DH was relegated to the couch. Pain was indescribable, totally crippled me and I just sat and cried, feeling really angry and plain depressed. Long story short, what the h__l can I do? It's eased up now and it's pure heaven to move without that much pain, but i can feel it lurking there and still have to lift my left foot with my knee locked, barely a few cm's off the ground. Has anyone got any experiences with dealing with this pain, found a cure, who did you see, what did you do?? My 14 month old runs faster thatn I can walk and it's dangerous at times. I have to always get my older kids to run and get him if DH isn't here. Luckily, DH is unwell with bronchitis (well, you know what I mean) so he's had to take extra time off work otherwise I'd be in real toruble. My mum can't come down for a bit longer and bceuase Ethan was early (so we think) my niece can't stay either because she doesn't finish her exams until the end of the week. If it comes bac k as severe as it was on Monday, where can I go to try to alleviate it? Any ideas? PLEASE!?

I had it too! I was told it was round ligament pain. never had it during pregnancy but felt it with a vengence about 3 or 4 days after the birth and it lasted almost a week. My DD is now 13 days old and its gone now. Good luck to you and stock up on Advil.
