I just wanted to thank you for posting on the Laboring down. I had never heard of it before and I went totally natural with my first 2, so it probably would not have worked (I had a VERY strong urge to push). Even though I had hoped to go natural this time, I feel like I had a great birth experience with the epidural. I never felt out of control and making the decision and having the doctor agree to letting my body do the work at the end was empowering. I don't think I would have even needed the 3 st_tches I did, if I did not have an episiotomy with my first (tore along old scar with #2). Jack had a perfectly round head...no coning. To any ladies reading this or who have seen the Labor thread...it is well worth trying if you are in the right situation. Thanks again djh!

tinkri, you are so very welcome! I fell in love with that birthing management when I saw how wonderful the best of both worlds could be for the moms I worked with. You know, good old mother nature and modern pharmaceuticals! Your feedback makes me feel even more strongly about advocating and educating my future patients when I am in L&D. How is Jack doing, and importantly, how are YOU feeling? Is baby feeding well? Are your st_tches giving you much grief? I do want to add, ALL the credit belongs to you, you took control and educated yourself on how important your decisions were in your son's birth. Did you get to dim the lights in your room and take that 1/2 hour of calm and quiet before pushing? That was the most common "favorite" of my laboring moms. Congrats again to you and your lovely family!
