What If Labor Comes Before C Section

I was just thinking about this and thought I would see what you ladies have to say. I am scheduled for a repeat c-section on Wednesday. I am having quite a few contractions today. I'm not timing or anything, I am assuming they are nothing, but what if I end up in labor within the next two days? Is it possible that my doctor will give me a shot to stop the contractions and send me home until Wednesday morning? Would it be likely that he would just do the c-section early? I was just wondering. I am 38 w 2 d.

More than likely do it early. Given that you are scheduled anyway all he does is find a theatre slot for you. I would keep an eye on them as if you do go into labour and baby progresses too far down they can't c-section you. ime those contractions and if they are regular get into L&D asap.

I have never heard that before...I didn't know there was a risk of going too far into labor. I will keep that in mind. I wanted to try a v____al birth this time, but my doctor won't let me... My first was 20 hours of labor and I only got to 5 cm so I had a c-section, my second baby was a little stressed during labor, so they took him c-section too.

After 36 weeks, they don't usually try to stop labor.

My doc told me with my 2nd and 3rd c-sections (scheduled) that if I went into labor I should just come in and they would do the c-section before labor progressed too far (yeah.... like I was worried about that... I went 24 hours and only dilated to 1/2 cm with my first lol).
