18 Month Old Not Napping

My ds is 18 months old and lately he does not want to nap. I give him his milk and read stories to him put him in his crib and walk out. Then he starts to whine not cry but whine for ever it seems. He might pass out for like 15 mins but I'm not sure because I don't dare open the door in case he's just laying there. So I let him carry on for about 45 mins. If he starts crying I go in, but not for whining. This has went on for a week now. A week ago he was the perfect napper he would just roll over and fall asleep like he does at night. Should I just keep doing this or could he be ready to give uo his nap? He seems very young not to nap. You can tell he is very tired at the end of the day. Could it just be a stage he's going through. To be honest I don't think I am ready for him not to nap. I like the quiet time..lol

My lo has been going through this too. She is about ready to give up the morning nap but has a hard time making until after lunch. Some days she does not nap at all but she has never been a good sleeper. Unfortunately, I don't really have any advice but if it were me, I would keep trying to get him to nap maybe just a bit later than his normal time. I think sometimes I need her naps more than she does, lol.

You may need to readjust his nap schedule, perhaps two small naps a day instead of one. I know what you mean about you needing the quiet time, I sssooo look forward to my childs nap time!
