Hi, My son is turning 3 in March and i not sure if he is ready for a booster seat. He's about 40lbs and 37 inches tall. I also have a 7 month old who is ready to get out of his infant seat, so i wanted to get my oldest into a booster...is he ready?

I used a booster seat with my boys starting at about 2 years old, so yes I think he would be ready for one.

The National Coalition for Carseat Safety states that no child should be in a booster until age 4, no matter the weight. Until age 4 they are safest with a three point harness. Sorry to disappoint.

Oh sorry, my bad! lol! I was thinking she was talking about a booster seat for the table. I typed that at work yesterday and I only read the first sentence, I guess. Mjvdec01 is right.

Most of the boosters say 40lbs...we found one that is 30lb so I bought it for my son (he turned 3 in november and he weighs 31lb). Anyways...we ended putting him back in the other carseat because when he fell asleep he would practically melt out of his seat belt...lol. Not so safe. So anyways, I would think with his weight and size wise he would be fine...but you might want to ask your pediatrician or the fire department what they recomend...goodluck!
